Yep, that''s right..we thought we had picked our dress, but now we''re not so sure. So here''s what I want from y''all..do you have any other suggestions and which of these three do you like more?

Dress # 1 (my fave pretty much...but it''s super pricey): Dress # 1

Dress # 2 (much less expensive): # 2 - I promise it looks better in person

Dress # 3 combo (even less expensive): For MOH and for rest of BMs

Here are the concerns: the long dress may be too hot outside in June, the dress is expensive, and which dress is the most flattering on a plus size gal?

And here''s my dress collage for reference, it has dress # 1 in it:

Honestly I don't like any of those. The long one will be hot and kind of looks... cheap?

What about this?

#2 looks as though it might best suit your needs ...
Do you mind sharing, again, possibly what you are seeking in a bm dress ... maybe we can all help you find something that you love and is perfect for you & your girls?

Of the three, I like #2 the best.

Hi everyone thanks for the input so far and for being honest! And oobiecoo I will check that one out and send it around!

Sparkalicious I''m looking for satin or chiffon - taffeta didn''t work at all. It needs to work for a brunette, redhead, and a blond.

And it needs to be okay outside in June..which is hard. And to be honest it needs to be at least a tiny bit dressy or something because I noticed when we put really plain dresses next to my dress they looked bad I don''t know how to explain it. I''m looking for light to medium greens mostly although we were also considering the perfect shade of pink (had to be absolutely right to work on the redhead). So to answer I want something that will work on various body times that is at least kind of formal (as formal as possible) that is either satin or chiffon and can work outside. Let me know if you need more details!

Thank you all for the help!

Hey Sarah, what''s your budget?

Under $250 would be preferable I think.

I''m partial to #3, the one you listed for the bridesmaids. Don''t know if you''ve tried it on or not, but I wore this dress in magenta (their deep pink color) as a wedding guest / program hander-outer. It was really comfortable, and I enjoyed being in it the whole time. It''s kinda plain, but you can really dress it up. You can also get sashes for it. But I vote for that one!

Hi Sarah - No problem ... Happy to help if I can.

I know that Jim Hjelm & The Vineyard Collection or Melissa Sweet by Priscilla of Boston both have great green like colors that might go with all of your girls ... JH is called Patina and The Vineyard Collection is Peridot (not the same as the gem) and Melissa Sweet is Pale Jade.
They have many, many styles to suit various body types and I''m sure that they may help you narrow down your choice. Oh - you should be able to find something within your stated price range as well.

Here are some links ...

The Vineyard Collection
Melissa Sweet

I hope that this helps.

If you see something that you like, let me know and I can see if I can find anything similar by another designer.

Should have mentioned you can dress it up with lots of gorgeous jewelry and shoes and pretty hair! And the dress is great in cool weather b/c the whole back is open. The hem hits right at the bottom of the knee.

Alfred Angelo is another designer you may wish to check out given the large selection of dress styles & color options.
My cousin just got married over the summer and all of her bm''s were asked to select a dress in the style that they liked best provided that it was in the right material, satin, for example and at cocktail length. Everyone was a different shape and size but everyone looked great!

I ditto the Alfred Angelo ones.....my eye went straight to this dress. I changed the color to their celadon green, which seems pretty close to the green that it is in your photo collage.

Thank you all so much!! I really like the one Laura posted!

Also, what do you all think of this lace one? Lace gown Could I mix a lace gown with my gown which is satin?
33.gif
Not sure if this one would work, but it''s pretty nonetheless!

FI doesn''t like these two..he says they look like party dresses.

Hi, Sarah! Have you considered ordering more expensive dresses from Netbride? I ended up ordering Watters bridesmaid dresses that were $280 in the store for $170 from them. Pearl's Place also seemed like a good option.

I would let you know how it goes, but they're not due in for another two months, and that wouldn't leave you much time since we're getting married the same day! (YAY!

)

ETA: In case you're looking for another suggestion, this dress by Watters looked amazing on several different-sized girls, and it comes in a beautiful green color (Midori). The raw silk is so gorgeous and sophisticated, and looks so rich in person. That green might be greener than what you're looking for, but I would definitely take the Watters line into consideration. I actually ended up going with this dress in Aubergine to match my gown a little better, and it's lovely and chic in person.

Well my Mom a.k.a my MOH saw this thread and she loves this one that you posted pocahontas: http://www.dessy.com/dresses/bridesmaid/6517/

So we may have at least one to go check out! And we could coordinate it with this one or this one or this one!
Yah Sarah! It''s funny, I saw those other ones you posted, but I was afraid you''d think they were too simple. I like them though. Let us know if you want more ideas.

Just saw it, thank you I almost missed it!

I like number 2. Maybe you can add a brooch or something to add some sparkle?

I like #3 of your first post in this thread. They are simple yet very elegant. All the other ones you posted will only work if your maids have a decent size rack (haha! sorry that sounds so crude). If any of them are a bit flat, it won''t be flattering...

Update, update! Okay. So we''ve gone through a ton of dresses past few days and I think we''ve officially ruled out the Jordan dress. I
30.gif
it, but it''s just not going to work I think. So..

I think we might be going with this dress in green. MOH does like it and it looks like everyone else does, too so far..do you think it would work with satin? It has satin under the lace and I checked it out in person and it''s very pretty in person!
30.gif
The green is awesome. Anyway, satin + lace = okay?

I Like that one its very pretty!

Very nice!

Has your plus size tried it on yet?

Speaking as a plus size, that particular dress would be no good. The shiny material would make a plus size look bigger and the satin will stick.

But if she tried it on and felt beautiful in it, then that''s all that matters.

Hihi!

Yeah I think it''ll work, the fabric isn''t THAT shiny in person. Also, it isn''t a clingy kind of satin at all not like charmeuse(sp).

I love the latest one - very very pretty in the picture! And the lace is beautiful.
