Holy cow, I''d be flipping out too!!! I hope you hear back from them pronto, and that you sounded suitably annoyed and freaked out on the phone for them to figure out what on earth went wrong as soon as they possibly can!

wow, keep us updated.

Got a call from Mike at Blue Nile after i call them to follow up, he told me to look everywhere in the box, vendor said it might be pack in a little plastic bag or sometime wrap up in a piece of paper or bubble wraps. I told him my package have no bubbles wrap no little plastic bag or piece of paper, i also told him that i only get one plastic pouch that the GIA cert. supposed to come with. So he ask me to wait and will get back in 1 hr or soo.

The only thing I can tell you, is just to relax. Worrying about it now or getting upset wont help, and if can be resolved easily (like the find it) then you would have worried for nothing.

It will be taken care of, im sure.

Oh thanks for your word, but i can''t help getting upset about it.

Remember by using your AmEx, your purchase is also protected. If you feel like this could be an issue, you could always contact AmEx and inform them of what has happened.

I''m really sorry! I hope they rectify the situation as soon as possible. I hope it wasn''t internal theft.

Oh my word! I''m so sorry!

What a hassle! I''ll cross my fingers for you that the situation gets fixed quickly.

Just to let you guys know everything is okay now. I found the stone since it was wrap loose in paper somehow it fell out when opened the box.

Yay!!!

I recently ordered two diamonds from Blue Nile, 0.42 and 0.43 ct, in January and they came mounted in tension settings inside of individual presentation boxes. No way could I have missed seeing one of them.

I wonder why yours was just wrapped in paper? Maybe BN is trying to save some $$$? Not worth it if people can''t find the stones!

Everything usually works out, stressing and worring doesnt help

What a relief!!! My BlueNile diamond also came in a tension setting and ring box. I think how it''s packaged must depend on which distributor the stone comes from. Mine came from NYC ~ I don''t think that is where BlueNile is located.

OH MY! Did you find it on your floor? So glad you found it! How do they look?

I''m glad you found it! I''m kind of surprised they pack their diamonds in a way that they can just fall out like that. Yikes! All''s well that ends well, I suppose.

This is my second time order from them the first time i got 2 boxes and just like your it came mounted in tension settings. This time i only got one box and i was freaking out. I did talked to one of the customer service and she told me that the reason one of the stone came wrapped in paper because my order came from the same vault and they want the consumer to be able to identify the stone since they ship them together. Makes any sense? I was soo upset all day, but not anymore

It was in the smaller box of fedex, and they look beautiful.

That doesn''t really make sense to me, actually. They could just mark the boxes so you would know which diamond was which. It''s pretty ridiculous that they sent the diamonds in such a non secure way. That''s an expensive purchase!

I''m glad you''re feeling better, though-I know that would really upset me, too!

Yeah, i do like your idea so better, just mark the darn box and i or my jeweler can always figure it out , making me getting all nervous , you guys should see my hands it was shaken when i actually found it.

Well, it doesn''t make sense to me to package them like that. GIA stones under 1 ct have the cert number on the girdle, right? I happen to have a microscope at home, so I checked those cert numbers right away. I could read them fairly easily with a loupe as well, but after I had them set the black carbon in the cert numbers was washed away, and it is much harder to find the numbers now.

Good think you did not toss it out by mistake!!!

Just amazing. Wrapping in paper just doesn''t seem very secure to me at all. Sure they come out of the vault like that but then put them in a box or something to ship them.

Just think how easily this could have happened. Oh My! You know, I am still amazed that something so expensive is stored in...paper! I really think they should have used a better method to contain the diamonds and also clearly mark them so you knew which was which right away. Maybe you gave them a little scare and they will improve their packing process. So glad you found the missing one!!!

It seems very common for diamonds and gemstones to be stored in those little papers. For shipping, I like those small white cases with a clear top where you can see through. It is stronger than paper and you can find it easily.
