hi everyone

i''m wondering about the diamond inventory at bluenile.com

what do y''all think is an average amount of time one diamond spends in their inventory before it is purchased?

how often should i recheck their inventory (once per day/week/month) to see new diamonds that have arrived since the last time i checked?

The answer would be different for every diamond. Some may sit there for years and new ones may be snapped up within days. I have checked my preferred vendors every day or so for new diamonds. I will tell you that it is harder to choose a diamond at lue Nile because most of theirs are virtual listings, not in-house stones. So you don''t have pictures, Idealscopes or Diamxrays, or other info that vendors like Good Old Gold and WhiteFlash provide on their in-house stones. That is why I have focused on those and a couple others who are able to provide more information to make the decision easier.

Back to your original question, though. Vendors often buy diamonds from more than one supplier, so new diamonds can become available almost anytime. So you really can''t check the sites too often.

Yeah, I agree. I was hesitant to purchase on the net but if I were to do so I would probably go to good old gold. It just seems like the guy picks out some awesome stones and does a good job from what I read on here(i would also check out other forums (not referring to DT) to get a more balanced opinion). I think it''s pretty much undisputed that the GOG owner has awesome stones and I have no idea about customer service and policies, all things to consider before you buy. Good luck!
