Blue Sapphire

Hi Everyone,
I am looking for a blue sapphire: Round or oval for a righthand ring. I like cornflower blue, violet and a bit darker - Acinom’s sapphire is my absolute favorite

I’ve seen one I really liked the color of and have asked to have more information. My budget is about $2500-3000.

Would anyone be able to give an opinion on the above or suggestions, please?

Pretty but maybe a bit expensive for its size?
On Loupe Troop there’s a seller called AdamantInternational who is selling and has sold some very lovely sapphires. I can’t vouch for them but their history indicates they are reputable.
Go to Coloured Gems, it’s on page 3.
This would be my pick, it’s a fraction over budget at $3,200 but it’s a great size, it’s 2.24 carats.

FWIW, Finewater Gems has an excellent return policy, provided you do not use the no return discount, whereas I believe Adamant International will honor returns, but they touch up their photos "to match what the eye sees" and are based in Sri Lanka, not the US. Depending on where you're located, you may find it more convenient to compare stones from Finewater Gems risk-free. Their regular prices are on the pricier side. Have you ever considered Gemfix?

Oooh the glow on that Finewater round is gorgeous! Though I'm not sure if that price is maybe a bit high for heated (though I do know that Ceylon can command a location premium, so there's that.)

Gary is awesome and my vote would go to him for ease of transaction and quality of stones. That said, there is a difference between the hand shot and the main photo. While the hand shot is glowy, the color of the skin is also a bit oversaturated in a pinkish way, which makes me think the camera might have just oversaturated that photo a bit. That is NOT to say that Gary manipulated it - doubt very much he would. Just that sometimes the camera over or undersaturates photos and if so, it might be overstating the stone's intensity.

To me, if it really is the color of the hand shot, it is well worth the price. Worth a look in any case. Bron's suggestion is great too, but for the return issue to Sri Lanka (unless they have a domestic return address).

Bought one stone from him recently (spendy chrysoberyl) and it was, imo, the most fairly represented of any I've bought online and I've bought from most of the familiar names (including the one at the top of this thread). Great communication, lots of extra videos in any light you can imagine. I'll buy from him again. Kind of poetic descriptions of colors, etc., but he was dead-on for mine. Legit shipping from Sri Lanka is a bit funny -- brown-paper-and-twine-wrapped parcel with official wax seals and the stone weight and value (!) stamped on the outside. Next time I will ship to a jeweler. I have zero connection to this vendor but will say good things whenever I can.

For the budget you might even find an unheated stone, if that matters to you.
