Hi wonderful, helpful people! ;)

I posted the other day that I have a 1ct diamond that I wanted to trade in at Robbins Bros (for $7195; I'd sell the BGD plat setting separately) for their trade-up policy. As I'm sure you all expect, their prices suck. I'm waiting to see a 1.85 F/S12 for $15,495 to see if it's cut well. They had no other info on the diamond other than F/SI2. Might not even be eye-clean.

Anyway, another option is to send the ring to White Pine Trading, where they will give me $4100-4500 for the entire ring. Not a great amount of money considering I spent $7200 + tax + $2K for the setting, but I can apply that to a Blue Nile ring.

So, I'm guessing I can get a nicer diamond at Blue Nile and still spend about the same after the credit, roughly $9-10k.

Ideally looking for a G/eye-clean SI1 or SI2, ideal cut in the 1.75-1.85 carat range. The Blue Nile customer service rep suggested these stones. Thoughts on them? Or is there anything else that stands out for a total price of about $13,000?

Thank you kindly in advance.

eta: I don't really like the 2nd option. Not really a fan of H or the price ;)

Stick to Signature Ideal stones at BN ONLY if you are looking at Si clarity. They will be guaranteed eyeclean.

Also run diamond stats through HCA. https://www.pricescope.com/tools/hca Scores 2 and under pass. Scores over 2 are fail.

That is the best way to get a nice diamond at BN.

Ok. So you do know that most SI2 diamonds are going to NOT be eyeclean right? And in case you haven't noticed Blue Nile doesn't have a picture of the stone posted so you can weed out the good from the bad. That's why I told you to stick to Blue Nile Signature stones only. Those are guaranteed and pre-screened for being eyeclean. Okay?

ah, I missed that suggestion, thanks for the reminder! I'm on it!
