Blatant Brag on my Town!

My city is participating in a public art project called Pledges of Allegiance. This is the type of pledge I’m willing to make! I am so proud to live in a progressive town that values diversity, encourages inclusiveness and tolerance, and discourages hatred and violence. My city isn’t perfect, but I fiercely love it and am happy to be raising my child here! Flags designed by Yoko Ono (as shown in the video) are flying several places around town. This, on top of the election results yesterday, is giving me LIFE! It’s not all bad out there. There is hope.

Exactly. There is a lot of good. There is hope.

The bad stuff gets shouted at us all the time, on the news, etc., and we can begin to think that there is no, or very little, kindness, compassionate or hope.

It doesn't get much media attention, but every day there are people being considerate and thoughtful to others. Its important to remember that.

I've been following the Instagram account "tanksgoodnews" which only posts positive stories, and it's really awesome - very mood brightening.

L—thanks for the IG rec! Most of what I follow are gardening accounts, so IG is good for my mental health. Facebook is terrible.
