I took my ering to have it sized. I didn''t notice it until I got home, but the diamonds on one side of my ring are dark. After looking at it from the side I can see that there is black between where the white gold meets up with the top of the diamond. I called the jewler and asked about it. They said that it may be from the solder(sp). I told her that I have jewelry cleaner. She said to try it and if it doesn''t come out to bring it back in. What is your opinion on this? Does this sound like something that can happen or should I be concerned? There are three small diamonds in that area. The one on the top edge is the worst, the second one in has some too and the last one looks normal.

99% sure it''s polishing compound, from the final buff/polish put on your ring by the jeweler after sizing.

It might come out with a good soak at home, but more likely than not it will need a longer bath and the help of an ultrasonic to get it out.

yep

Thanks, that makes me feel a whole lot better. I cannot put it in an ultrasonic because it has pave stones on the band. So hopefully the soak will get it out once I scrub it with the brush. The cleaner says to only let it soak for 30 seconds. The girl at the store said that I could probably let it go a little longer. Wish me luck. You all are great!

If it doesn''t come out with a home cleaning, try a professional cleaning.
