Hello everyone, I''m new...My name is Steve and I''m 33.

I just purchased a diamond online to place in my fiancee''s ring and am SO nervous waiting for it to arrive!!! Since we live in different countries, she in South Africa, I in the United States, I did not have a chance to get her ring before proposing, since we don''t get to see each other in person very often, but I asked her while visiting in the UK earlier this year and she agreed!! YAY!!

I don''t know a lot about diamonds, but I THINK I got something nice...will see when it gets here I spose. Here''s what is listed about it...

Select Ideal (Union Diamond dot com)
Round .65 ct
F
SI2
5.55x5.53x3.46
polish & symmetry, VG
Fluorescence, none
then there are other numbers and measurements I know nothing about
GIA certification

I was born lucky so have a feeling it will be just perfect, but MAN I''m still so NERVOUS!! This was my first "real" diamond purchase and will be my second marriage. When I purchased my first wife''s ring, I had no clue what i was doing and am kinda emberrassed that I did not take the time to pick her out something special too...got her a diamond but have no idea what it was, only that it was a diamond. Oh well, the meaning was there and that counts for summin huh?

This ring is two tone...white with woven yellow gold inlay and think it''s gonna be real nice looking with that stone.

I had a dream about the stone the night I ordered it...the spirit of the diamond was talking to me! I remember gazing into the diamond and looking at the "imperfections," just studying it. I was comparing the stone to some paperwork that was part diamond discription, part story of a woman. She was explaining to me how she had this quality of being "at odds with herself" because of the quality versus beauty, something that had in the past got her in a bit of trouble or had caused her to have a bad reputation or something like that. She explained that in reality this conflict actually made or makes her MORE valuable....

weird huh?

Man, I hope this is not too off topic, I''m just excited

I''m sorry
