"Multiple hecklers shouting "Bill Clinton is a rapist" interrupted President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton at separate rallies after a pro-Donald Trump radio host offered a cash reward to anyone carrying out such a stunt.

Three separate protesters disrupted Hillary Clinton's election campaign rally with Al Gore in Miami, while three others — including two wearing "Bill Clinton rapist" T-shirts — cut into Obama as he addressed a crowd in North Carolina.

The Clinton campaign linked the incidents to Alex Jones, the conspiracy theorist and right-wing radio host who founded the Infowars website."

Have I now seen and heard it all? This is the President of the United States they were interrupting for money from a talk show host.

The whole election process has gotten horribly nasty over the years. It's sad. I get that people are passionate about politics, but it's prompted some pretty awful behaviors/actions/dialogues. I remember being appalled by graphic t-shirts that referred to Sarah Palin as a "Republicunt" and then there were these:

Other countries are probably laughing at us.

^Yes, I suspect you're right :blackeye:

No, we're too shocked to believe that it's real. And too busy feeling anxious for us all....

While free speech is valued in all democratic nations, hate speech and inciting illegal activity such as acts of violence like DT has at times done, willfully spreading untrue information, or conspiring to engage in illegal activity such as this radio host has done (I'm assuming at the least that these actions might warrant a disorderly conduct or public nuisance charge, not to mention opening people up to defamation suits), would not be protected. Is he prepared to pay their legal fees too? Punitive damages from a defamation suit? Probably not. He might be too busy paying his own by the time that he is done...

I think many of us watching US politics at the moment see this as a dangerous off-shoot of DT's poorly thought out speech and tendency to invite his followers to engage in unbecoming (at best) and illegal (at worst) behaviour. It's why the world worries about him winning and why the stock markets are directly negatively tied to any sign that he might win. He is truly, IMO, not fit to represent your proud and powerful country on the world stage. He seems to represent the worst of humanity rather than the best, and sadly there seem to be way too many people willing to follow him. It's terrifying.
