Big stones hiding in safes!

I stopped in at my "little" jeweler today (I use mostly for setting and sizing, not much inventory) to look through the Stuller book. He never minds talking and chatting, and never expects that I''m there just to spend money. In fact he calls me one of his BEST customers.

Today he mentioned that if I ever needed him to bring in any diamonds to please give him the opportunity to do so. He promised to give me the best price (and I believe he would). I think he gets a kick out of the fact that I can talk the talk and walk the walk!

Anyway..... during the course of the conversation I tell him I''m sure he has some pretty stones available to him, and he asks me if I would like to see what he has in the safe. I say sure, SO.............

Out comes a round 7.4 carat, VVS2 K-L with 51% table and 61% depth. It had the most gorgeous pinky warm glow (as opposed to yellowy). My jaw hit the ground!!! This was a beauty! I''m an FIC person, so the small table was kickin! He had me take it outside the store into the sun so I could shoot rainbows all over the place!

Now, I''ve tried diamonds on in Tiffany and Cartier, but this was hands down, the most beautiful stone I''ve ever seen!!!! And he told me to come back and visit it anytime I want, it gets lonely hiding in the safe all of the time!!!!

I didn''t ask about price since it was obvious I wasn''t going to be buying it. I went with "appreciating it for its inherent beauty" tactic. I may yet ask about taking a picture of it. He asked that I keep a low profile about him having it since he didn''t want to make himself a target (we''ve had some local jewelry stores broken into recently). I told him that the only people I''d be telling was my husband (so I could watch him roll his eyes) and all of my jewelry board friends! He laughed at that last because we''ve had discussions before about who on earth I find to discuss the diamond/gemstone minutia with here in the grand prairie!

It just sounds so unusual, I would loooove to see it. I know a pic won''t really do it but still... better than nothing!

I wouldn''t want a 7ct diamond but I love to drool over them!
