Hey everyone, I hope you wouldn't mind reviewing this last stone from Brian Gavin that I put on hold. I was really hoping to stay under $13k (setting included), but I was told they couldn't move any lower...even the < 1% I need, so not much I can do there.

The diamond is just under $12.6k after bank wire and pricescope discount and will be set on a 4 prong solitaire in white gold or platinum.

My basic specs I have had in mind are below:

Ct: 1.6+
Cut: Ideal
Color: I or above
Clarity: Eye Clean a must (was worried about S2 but listed as eye clean)
HCA: Under 2

While there are no "deals", is this a decent price? Thank you again and credit to RockyRaccoon for showing me this diamond!

That's a lot of quality stone for the $. And if it's eye clean to BG, it has to be a pretty good SI2. It also made their Signature collection which also says a lot. I'm not seeing any negatives here.

Can't go wrong with AGS 0 and if BG says its eye clean I think go for it

The only thing I would worry about is how eye clean is it? For myself I don't want to see any inclusions without a loupe. Everyone is different and your comfort level will depend on your definition of eye clean.

It is a beautiful diamond, Brian Gavin Signature stone's with AGSL Ideal cuts are top of the line.

Great price for a gorgeous stone!

That was my initial concern as well. I followed up to have the stone looked at to see just how "eye clean" it is. Hoping for the best!

Thanks for your opinions - much appreciated! Hopefully a few more will chime in before I have to make the final decision Monday :read:

I love it.

You are getting everything you need and nothing you don't.

I think you are ready to go.

So what are you setting it in?

I'm very curious to see how eye clean BGD says the stone is, but I trust they'll be honest with you. If you have a true eye clean SI2 (or rather eye clean to your standards), then I'd snatch that up myself in a heartbeat... if someone's kind enough to lend me 13k, that is :naughty:

A 4 prong solitaire as that's what she always wanted. I just need to decide between white gold and platinum!

I always recommend platinum. No need to re-plate, but can be polished to return to original finish, if you prefer. Doesn't lose weight when polished (unlike gold).

Glad we were able to find a stone that met all your needs! When I saw your original specs, I was hesitant, but I think you've found a real winner.

Post pictures, once you're all done.

Love the proportion of this stone..

You need to get this one reserved before it gets poached, it's a beauty for the $$$.

Just talked to Jamie at Brian Gavin. While the inclusion isnt very large, it is dark in nature and will likely be seen anywhere closer than 8-10 inches or from the side. I have it on hold for another day. What do you guys think? The fact that the inclusion can be seen looking relatively close really scares me. Wish this could have been easy!
