Argh, I'm so mad! One of my best friends, J, is in army AIT right now and got to come home for just a couple of days to see his wife and two babies, so they wanted to get together with me and DH for dinner. We get home from dinner and a little while later, we get a text saying their house had been broken into, and their tv, computers, and his wedding ring (which he left at home because it needs to be resized from all the weight he lost at basic) among other things had been taken, and their back door was kicked in to the point where the entire door and frame will have to be replaced. The robbers even dug through their fridge and left it open, so almost all their groceries are spoiled. I'm so mad for them that the tiny bit of time he got to come home and see them was spoiled by this, that he's going to be worried sick and she's going to be terrified being at home alone with two children under the age of four, and that the cops said there's very little chance they'll be able to catch the guys. These guys broke in while it was still broad daylight!!!
Thanks for letting me vent for a minute. On the plus side, they and their children are okay, the thieves at least left the kids' room alone, and their cat wasn't hurt, although pretty freaked out. The cat was actually how they knew something was wrong--he was sitting on the front porch when they got home, and he's not allowed outside ever, so J immediately knew someone must have come in through the back door. They were insured, too, so hopefully they'll be able to get new electronics and whatnot, but I know they were both ticked about the wedding band.
