I've been wanting to post these two for a while. DBTY vs. Basket Setting. Which diamond do you think is larger OR are they the same ct. weight?

(The photo isn't the best. . .lighting is kind of weird!)

Also, looks like the top stone has an off center culet, lol, but it's just my camera angle!

maybe its just the bezel illusion but I''ll still say the bezel looks larger...lol

Bezel! Bezel! Bezel! Hands down I prefer the look and it''s a more unique look. Love it!

I think they''re very close to the same ct weight, but of course the bezel still looks bigger.
And yes, Very odd lighting!

top one looks bigger to me, but i prefer the bezel setting.

great necklaces, tho - both of them! :)

i think the bezel looks larger too but maybe it''s the setting. i love bezels! beautiful!

The bezel looks bigger.... but diamond wise, I think the top looks the largest... barely though.

The bezel looks slightly larger.

They look the same size. However w/ the bezel, it always appeals to my eyes making it look larger... but I just love the look of a bezeled pendant.. LOVE IT!

Bezel!!!

ETA: Sorry, the top one looks larger to me, but I like the bezel better!!!

I think the bezel makes it look bigger

Thritto.

Same carat weight? Bezel looks bigger. When are you going to post the answer?

My guess is that they are the same weight but the bezeled one looks larger due to the bezel.

I am going to say that they are both around the same ct weight, but I like the bezel one better. I like the plain solitaire as well though!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Like the rest, my gut feel is that both stones are about the same measurement, but the bezel gives it the illusion of looking larger. I really like bezels for pendants too. What I'd do differently is to readjust the connecting rings so that they don't look like Mickey Mouse ears by turning them sideways so only a thin line of metal is seen.

Ditto, Chrono. That is a great suggestion.

that is my thought too. I like the bezel better but the connection looked like Mickey Mouse ears to me too...

I think the bezel makes the diamond look larger, but when I focus my eyes on the diamonds themselves, I think the basket one is actually a tad larger.

I like the look of both, but prefer the bezel setting. I like the chain on the top one better. It''s more delicate.

I''m guessing the top one is a tiny bit larger but I much prefer the bezel setting. MMMMMM I want one!

Bezel!

Yes, the mickey mouse ears aren''t too flattering. The chain also has a kink in it that can be seen in the photo. . .I need to take it in. I''m not sure how much it would cost to turn the mickey ears the other way. . .currently the pendant flips all the time and I wouldn''t want to have the pendant altered and still deal with that problem.

The top pendant is a Whiteflash ES stone .41 (E VS2) set in their four-corners design (WG) and the second is a .38 (D VS2) set into a thin bezel (platinum) with a thicker wheat chain. So, yes the diamonds are very close in size and details.

The basket setting is blah to me. . . I had wanted the Bellarina pendant, but the smallest that can be mounted into that is a .50 and that was over my budget at the time.

lol on the lighting. I took the photo late at night after my kids were in bed, so not the optimal time to be photographing diamonds - under unflattering bathroom lighting.

I''ll take better shots in the sun!
