No, these two items do not need to be interactive. BUT, as I have an anniversary coming up with The Pickiest Man in the World, I figured I'd hit up the PS Braintrust for suggestions.

Wireless noise-canceling headphones appear to be as rare as hens teeth: the only one I've found so far is the Sennheiser MM 550 Travel Bluetooth Wireless Headset (http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-MM-550-Travel-Bluetooth/dp/B003WV38GM), which gets mixed reviews. Any of y'all have any experience? Suggestions? He already owns the Bose QuietComfort 15 ones, just wants something he can wander around the house in.

Coffee-maker with timer: this sucker, the Cuisinart CHW-12 Coffee Plus 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker with Hot Water System (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003KYSLMC/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER) seems to get the best reviews overall, but if any of you know of a better, more fancy-pants coffee-maker, HIT ME. Only requirement if that it be able to brew the kind of coffee you can use to anchor a tent-pole. Think Turkish coffee, but stronger.

I love you in advance ....

Re: BEST: wireless noise-canceling headphones; coffee-maker

We recently had to replace our espresso machine that died and got a wonderful machine that makes some really strong (yummy!) coffee. B likes Turkish coffee and other tent-pole holding coffee and is thrilled with this machine.

The Saeco Sirena steams and foams milk really nicely, makes water hot enough to use for tea, can do single shot or double shot, and is really kind of cool looking. The downside is that it is not programmable but it only takes a minute to make each cup. One neat feature is that it shuts itself off if it gets too hot (like if you forget to turn it off and leave the house for a few hours...).

Ours was a refurb from HERE -- they've also got regular coffee machines and all sorts of other neat stuff. The people were helpful and they ship if you aren't in the area. They seem to carry nice stuff and happily pointed me at a less expensive machine that works better than the one I had been asking about!

We have a Cuisinart coffee maker, although not the fancy one that you posted. We have been really happy with it. We had a Delongi
prior to it and it dripped coffee like crazy. You couldn't pour the dumb thing without it dripping. We have not had that problem with the
Cuisinart and the top has a bigger hole so you can at least get a brush in the center to clean it. It was much smaller in the Delongi. I still
can't get my hand inside however. But it is by far the best coffee pot with a time that we have had. Now if they could just make one
that didn't lose it's timers when you unplug it.......

Well, I don't think they make one with a timer, but la Pavoni arguably make the finest coffee makers on earth. ;))

The Pickiest Man in the World's long lost brother over here is happy with ours, and also asserts that it is a design classic, so may be worth looking into. You can make coffee that people could dance on with it, too.

This site http://www.head-fi.org/ has excellent reviews of all type of headphones.

You may want to check it out.

We really like our Zojirushi coffee maker: http://www.amazon.com/Zojirushi-EC-...1?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1318461490&sr=1-1 The thermal carafe prevents coffee from burning after sitting. I will go back to the same pot of coffee several hours later, which I'm sure some enthusiasts would not care to do. Works for me, however. Sometimes I just need another little pick me up and don't want to brew another pot, even just a small one.

I'm surprised no one mentioned a Keurig K-cup coffee maker yet.

I like heavy-duty coffee, the kind that makes average humans jittery, but which I find only mildly refreshing.

We got this at Costco, and love this intense, smooth, coffee; http://www.keurig.com/coffee/big-easy-bold-coffee-k-cup-emerils

You can pick the size of the coffee cup with this version of the K coffee maker (you can brew a grande size), and all our guests love the coffee. To me, Starbucks tastes watery and slightly burnt, and their espresso only tastes slightly less watery. I love this coffee because it is rich and full-bodied, with a depth of flavor that is hard to duplicate. So, if that gives you any point of comparison on my type of coffee versus that of other people.

We also LOVE this tea, it's intense and we run the water through twice using the same cup and it's still strong. We get twice the tea at half the cost. I'm from the south, so we KNOW iced tea. I get rave reviews on this too, and have "sold" several Keurigs to my friends based on this tea;

Before this, we had the fancy Cuisinart that grinds and brews, with timer, etc., but it took too long and the coffee was never this rich. I tried every type of organic, bold, or "robust" coffee out there, but I only got mediocre coffee. Emeril's is a coffee epiphany. If you decide, in a couple of years, that you don't like it, you can always return the coffee maker to any Costco. This is also a good, strong coffee; http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?prodid=11650526&hierPath=90608*56625*87290*&whse=BC&topnav=&Browse=&lang=en-US

We love our K-cups! :appl:

Re: BEST: wireless noise-canceling headphones; coffee-maker

Some people don't like K Cups or Nespresso pods because they aren't recyclable.

My coffee is fair trade, the bag it comes in is biodegradable and recyclable, and i just throw the filter and grounds into my compost.

Re: BEST: wireless noise-canceling headphones; coffee-maker

I've had the Cuisinart coffee maker that looks like that model except w/o the hot water feature ('til this one time the Mr. poured iced tea in it instead of filtered water and broke it :o ) Anywho, I loved it and this one looks even better. The only thing I might say is if you think it would be useful, get their thermal carafe, which should be compatible. http://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-DCC-2400RC-12-Cup-Stainless-Thermal/dp/B0011YP1YO
