Best style of prongs / mount?

I’m about to purchase a 2 carat radiant cut sapphire and looking at a simple chunky ring and found this

What kind of prongs would be best for the diamonds that will feel smooth against the next finger and minimal catching ? I know nothing about these types of mounts. I don’t want bezel set side stones - I like that this looks like a chunky eternity band with a bezel set stone center

(I’m looking at the ring finger mount style as a backup but the question is for the pinky ring)

I am NOT a fan of most stones set with prongs; I LOVE bar set stones, and settings that 'resemble' tension set stones when one is working with stones that have 'flat' sides, i.e. emerald cut, radiant, etc.

You could emulate that look with bead set stones in a very delicate narrow rail. Like this:

Or you could use the style of fishtail style shared prong. Each shared prong is more like a mini semi-bezel. Iirc this is Mrs b’s ring and she said it’s smooth like butter. I have this type of shared fishtail prong between the stones in my five stone and can attest it is smooth and totally comfortable.

Oh these are such great ideas thank you!!! Love the second idea for a more modern look. Appreciate the visuals

I also like the second version. It gives a more “diamonds only” look.
