For all of you who have seen a lot of cushions in person, in your opinion, how big does a cushion need to be to really show off its unique shape, and not look like a misshapen rb?
Well over a carat. I'm looking at my under a carat OMC and you definitely need to look closely at it to see the shape properly. At a guess, 1.5 and above should be safe?
I saw a 1.80 Cushion during my diamond search and there was no mistake on what it was. I suspect that 1.50 and up that Hest suggested would be large enough to discern that it is a Cushion.
If I was the first to answer, I'd even say 2cts, but definitely above 1.5. In saying this, I am taking into consideration what the ring may look like at arm's length. The watery looks of older cuts (or not so briliant in general) adds to the "difference" in small stones, but I am not sure that this is the kind of difference you want
