OK- so a few months ago, FI''s best man was in town. He''s asked me if there was anything he could do to help and stated that he really wanted a job for the wedding. So, I decided to put him in charge of alcohol (since he works part time at a winery). Thrilled by the delegation, he promised he would do a great job.
Fast forward- I had already sent him a list of food and how many people we were going to have and the name of a distributor that would DELIVER the alcohol to the venue for us and told him the alcohol had to get there by Wednesday or Thursday of wedding week. I gave him a budget and just told him I would pay him back. He said "no problem- I''ll take care of it"
Now it''s wedding week- best man was supposed to be in town around 12 noon or 1pm Wednesday. He decided to buy the booze where he was and drive it down (instead of having the distributor deliver it)- fine... as long as it gets to the venue. So, he ends up partying too hard the night before and doesn''t leave town until HOURS after he intended to. He shows up at 5pm- the venue is closed. What''s more- all he brought was 38 bottles of wine (that''s enough for 1 drink per person).
To complicate matters- he and FI leave for the bachelor party around 5:30pm. He said he would get the rest of the booze and take it to the venue on Friday. (I had already said it had to be there Wednesday or Thursday because they have an event Friday and we can''t access the premises) So now- here I am- with a to do list 100 pages long, and now I have go out and get alcohol and deliver it for a 120 person wedding. Luckily, FI''s family is in town and they are going to help me.
I may just hit him with that cast iron skillet on my registry!
*Vent is Over- Thank you*
