Can''t help you with Paris, but will look into the London thing. As you know, number one son lives there.
I''ll be back!
I''m assuming you want the cream of the crop as this is for a special occasion, so I''m starting off with the best. It will take me a bit longer if you want me to research smaller boutique hotels. Are you absolutely hell bent on London?
Pret a Portea at the Berkeley Hotel in London is awesome. Who wouldn''t love drinking tea, champagne, and miniature cake replicas of Hermes Kelly bags?!?
Plus, afterwards, you can go to Harrods (slightly tipsy from the champagne) and buy whatever you want!
(Pricescope won''t let me post links to it, but seriously, look up Pret a Portea pics in Flickr- it is awesome)
Methinks Sharon will be much more at home in Harvey Nicks. How goes it Canuk-gal?Date: 1/25/2010 4:02:07 PM

Have you thought about renting an apartment in Paris? We did that the last two times we stayed there, and would never go back to a hotel. It gives you a nice ''hangout'' space for everyone, and you get to shop in all the wonderful food shops and street markets. It probably only works if you''re going to stay 4 nights or more, but gives you a whole different feel for the city.
You thank your lucky stars he''s not as broad as he is long! And you''re such an itty-bitty little thing, I am sure you could manage! What was it you were saying about women belonging in the arms of a hot man ........Date: 1/26/2010 5:06:37 PM

Yes!! Thanks for the tip nonetheless!! We have been in contact with homeowners already--but many of them only have queen beds....I know I am whining; but how do you sleep with a 6'' 4'' guy in a queen bed???
No king beds in Europe...even three singles would be great......
So much to plan!!!
cheers--Sharon

Don''t let that stop you. They have king beds in Paris! I just went on VRBO and within a minute found a 3-bedroom, 2.5 bath apartment in St. Germain that looks lovely. Master bedroom has a king bed (two twins that make a king). And the last apartment we stayed at had a king. I specifically look for that because that''s the size we''re used to as well. It''s more common to have queen size, but king beds do exist. Best of luck to you. Hope you find the perfect place!
