This says it all. Not bling, not expensive, just from the heart from our lovely daughter in law.

My heart is bursting with happiness and love, that our lovely DIL told us how happy she is that we’re here.

A blessed day of solitude, where I can be alone with my thoughts, play piano, and have the Southern California freeway system virtually all to myself.

you are all very lucky to not only have each other but to know that you appreate each other

due to a large age difference i feel sad i never got the time to spend with Gary's mum

It's wonderful to have that kind of relationship with in-laws! You-- and she-- are both blessed!

My best Christmas present ever was my daughter, born a few days before Christmas 26 years ago. =)2

It is a blessing to have in-laws that love and appreciate you, especially daughter-in-laws. It really is all about the little things! You are blessed Austina, you have gained a daughter!

Aww so sweet. I am not surprised. You both lucked out in the in law department. My friend calls her daughter in law daughter in love. I quite like that. Hugs to all of you and happy holidays!

this is very sweet...I get to see my daughter in law today, we are having our little get together today with our oldest son, his wife and our beautiful grand daughter...today is my oldest son's birthday.

That is sooooo sweet. I feel like I’ve also struck gold with my in-laws, especially since I lost my parents in my 20s. My mother in law says she never viewed her sons as getting married as “losing” someone but rather, as gaining more family.

Lovin this! This is what the holidays are all about *insert heart emoji*

How sweet!! Thank you for being such a good MIL to your DIL! She must have a warm and loving relationship with you and your DH. I'll always be sad about not having that with my own monsters-in-law, who are the snootiest, coldest, most judgmental/disrespectful, most self-absorbed people you've ever met. Even worse, they have zero interest in my kids - their own grandchildren!! They simply don't care about anyone or anything except for their own social status. It totally boggles my mind.

Ugh that’s awful @KristyDarling. I didn’t have a great relationship with my in-laws, so I was determined that I wouldn’t be like that with my DIL. Of course, she makes it so easy, because she’s such a great person.

The best gift ever was a rescued puppy dog my mom gave me many many years ago.

...that is one big car

LOL, actually it's on the small side for a car.

At 9'2" my piano is 7" longer than a Smart car.
A Smart Car has 4 tires, 16" in diameter.
But since my piano has only 3 solid brass 3.5" wheels the ride is a bit rough. :nono:

I do get a lot of stares, though. ;)2
That must be because the open roof is hinged on the left side.
