This was our 4th Christmas together and the one where he asked me to marry him! 
We looked at rings around Thanksgiving and the one I fell in love with was about triple our budget. I kept referring to it as my soulmate ring because it was perfect. I told him not to get it and that we would find something else. We have been discussing a wedding this coming October so I knew it had to come eventually, but I never thought he would do it on Christmas!
My family has a huge Christmas Eve party every year with allllll of our family and close friends. Somewhere between midnight and 1am they insisted that we open presents NOW and that I go first. When they started getting pushy about it (I was hesitating/confused as to why I was the only one going!) I started getting suspicious. I finally gave in and opened my present. Pulled out a box with my engagement ring in it and started crying. My boyfriend (now fiance!) got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I could hardly hear him over all of the screaming and clapping. I said yes. I was bawling half our of happiness, half out of how intense the situation was/embarrassment. It was amazing and overwhelming. I'm so happy. He got me my soulmate ring. I keep teasing that he went over our $100 budget for Christmas presents.
Due to the fact that there were AT LEAST 20 people watching it and taking pictures we have a lot of awkward pictures of my reaction and even a video! It's embarrassing to watch now, but I'm glad we have it documented so we can look back on it.
I'll try and take some better pictures later today! I'm so excited!
