My husband LOL. I'm kidding. Probably an antique dressing table I've had since I was 20. There was one I had run across at a salon I loved more than the one I had. I was sick when I found out the owner sold it for $150 dollars.

Any pic of your antique dressing table?

This question has been asked in the past, I think.......
But anyway, I have a Roman coin that dates from 364 AD.
I mounted it in a sterling silver pendant.

My house was built in 1926.

Fab question! This has really got me thinking, besides the diamonds....

I have a couple of inherited rings, so diamonds aside, the pearl ring in my avatar dates from between 1895-1905. The setting is all original & very old (for now. It's too delicate to wear & Caysie has offered to look at it for me). I also have a lock of my dads hair in a locket. We lost him 16 years ago but he would have been 75 now. But then hair sheds every 5-7 years, so I've counted this out....

Hmmm.... My house was built in 1970 & my husband born in 1973.

I'm going to have a mooch. We have some old paintings that we inherited from my father in law, but we are generally a modern household....

Looking forward to replies on this!

I have some confederate bills. Found then in my Aunts things after she passed.

My piano! I just realised whilst writing in Missy's other thread!

It came from the Manchester Royal School of Music when I was 8 years old, so 35 years ago. It had been in their basement since 1951, which was when the lift broke. My dad was tasked with the job of the lift repair & he commented on what a beautiful piano it was trapped down there, amongst other treasures. The Manager said if you can get that lift working, Sir, you can have that piano. And so it became mine. It is made from engraved Walnut with beautiful inlaid flowers. There is a date scribbled inside in pencil of 1741, along with other illegible notes. The first upright piano's came into manufacture around 1700, so it seems to fall into place. Over the years it has been completely re-strung & has had a new back board, but to me, it's the most beautiful sounding piano in the world

My mother’s monogrammed gold earrings from 1954. Clip ons. She died when I was five. I also have her wedding earrings, pearls with a small diamond in platinumm.

We need to see some pics.

Interesting topic! =)2

Here's a fossil I've had forever. Don't know how old it might be. Just took some photos now, including with a mug next to it to give an idea of size.

I have two Shillelaghs from Ireland they are from the mid 1800s that my great/great grandparents brought from Ireland mid 1850s.

my husband :lol-2:

I have some crystal glasses, silver, and china that date back to my great grandparents (so early 1900’s I’d guess), and I have the first gift my grandfather ever gave my grandmother. My dad has some silver dollars from the 1800’s that I’ll inherit one day.

Mine is a 1820 Large cent. This cent is size of a half dollar.

I have three leaves of of incunabula (ie - printed prior to 1501) of Pope Gregory I's Moralia - his commentary on Job. They were printed in 1496 in Basel, and have hand-painted capitals. Two of them I framed in a dark ruby dupioni silk matte (made the silk mattes myself I might add), and hang over my red velvet Gothic Revival chair made in Boston in the 1870s.

.
WOW ! @Alex T

-

Might have apropriated some shards from an archeological dig once upon a time ...

More legitimately old & mine: my great grandmother's 'ie' (Romanian blouse, famously); since these things are hardly ever worn, chances are a few more owners, one each generation, will get to turn heads in it.

My opals? :Up_to_something:

Other than that it is probably my boat, it's a circa 1980s model but it was rebuilt and resprayed in 2014 to look like new again. It's just had an upgrade to a 2014 model motor so it's getting newer lol but the boat itself will always be 'vintage'

The dial on one of my watches is made of meteorite and has beautiful Widmanstatten lines on it. I'm told it dates back to The Big Bang

my house was built in 1913...so I will say my house

Some of you guys should go on Antiques Roadshow! :lol-2:

I have an old flip phone floating around here somewhere. That seems pretty ancient!

My paternal grandmother's charm bracelet from the 60s, and my maternal grandmother's engagement ring and some of her sheet music from the 30s-60s. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Hey Monarch! I was on Antiques Roadshow when they came to my town in 2014. I volunteered to work at the pottery/porcelain table. It was such a thrill! Here is a photo of me with the Keno Brothers

My oldest item is a sapphire and rose cut diamond ring that I inherited from my grandmother (Bertie!), who got it as a gift from my grandfather. He got it in Italy during WW2. We believe it dates to the mid 1800s. It's the ring I teethed on as a baby and was fascinated with my whole life long. My grandmother gave it to me right before she passed and is incredibly special to me.
close%20up.jpgThat's really cool @stracci2000!! I love that show!

$20 and a $10? hard to tell the size from your pic.

Wish I can give you some better news but it is something that I would sell for its gold content.

The $20 contains .96 oz of pure gold, so you take $1270 spot gold X .96 = $1219 for the $20 gold piece and the $10 piece is worth half that.

TBH, I would only pay $1200 for the $20 and $600 for the $10 and probably still can't sell em for a profit.

Haha, thanks! The Kenos were both adorable and personable. They were squeezing my waist and making us all laugh before that pic was taken!

Looks like a fossilized Ammonite. If so, could be up to 65 million years old. They went extinct with the dinosaurs and are a distant relation to modern Nautalis. Its hard to tell for sure as the shell should be divided into chamber - -but that's been lost with time.

I own something that's 4.54 billion + years old ... The earth under our house.

Even then the planet earth didn't pop into existence from nothing.
It consists of stuff that existed before earth formed into a planet.

Seriously though I have a couple old things I'm gonna photograph when I get time.
