I commissioned a California Himalaya mine pink tourmaline and wanted to share how it came out!

I don't have it in hand yet, but the vendor's original rough and cut stone videos are below in the imgur link. I thought it would be interesting to share, because I found it so hard to envision what the final piece will look like from just the rough. I expected a darker, dustier piece and was overall quite happy with the end result! I haven't usually seen California tourmalines in such a vivid pink color. What do you think?

Preview (screengrab from the video) - these were shot on an overcast day.

It isn't quite a glamour shot imo so I'm quite curious how it will look in person.

I know that pink tourms can brown out a bit in indoor lighting, and I see some brown here too, so there's that too.

Videos:
3.13 ct. and 9.39 x 7.91 mm

Suggestions for settings? I saw this recently for example:

So pretty! I can't 2the video to open but it may be user error. I really like the setting you like as well. Can't wait for hand pics when you get it!

No video for me either.
If that color is half as good as the still shot, it's going to be a stunner. :kiss2:

Here's a working video link! I was trying to paste it directly but PS seems to do some weird formatting that destroys it. I'll try a few different ways...

EDIT3: Okay, I absolutely cannot get the video of the rough working, I'm sorry. I'm not sure why, but if I 1. upload that particular video to the post or 2. try to share the direct link to that video, either way, it will fail as long as it's that video. I tried it without a post name and with a post name, logged in and logged out and I cannot get it working. Nonetheless, above is the video of the finished cut stone!

The cut one worked for me! Yay!
So, I'm biased, as this is one of my very favorite gem color families, but I love it.

I'm excited to see how it comes out. It's so hard to find spinels in this color(my personal weakness, spinels).

Grabbed a couple stills of the rough for anyone curious!

Wow, that is a spectacular color! I am with you in being bad about judging gem color from the rough color. But, oh my gosh I never would have thought that rough would have produced a gem of this color. Crazy!
