Here''s the description from the book Eclipse by Stephanie Meyer:

I''m not sure what to think about that ring approved by Stephenie Meyer. I kinda imagined it a lot more exquisite and delicate.

Yeah I agree about your comment, but ...

Bella is not much fond of be engaged, so the ring coming from Edward should be an antique style...

Yea...cant say its on my top list of fav. "antique" rings off all time. It isnt very delicate..but hey, it has diamonds so I cant complain!

Ditto. Not what they described at all, or what I imagined. Scroll work, filagree, very vintage, delicate..... not whatever that replication is. ick.

No, in the book, the way it was described sounded like an oval with a halo in a split-shank micropave setting.

I hope loving diamonds and hudson hawk don''t mind me posting pics of their rings but when i read the book i always imagined it to be something like one of their beautiful rings!

Well, to be fair, SM didn''t design this actual ring, but she did give it her stamp of approval.

I pictured Bella''s ring to be more of an oval diamond with a halo and plain shank.

or even something like this with little diamonds instead of the one stone in the middle, even this would have been better than the ''approved ring''

When my daughter and I read the book(s), I really had trouble picturing the ring, and so did she. I''ll show her this pic and see what she thinks. It "sort of" suits the description, but I imagined something much more delicate looking. I knew it wouldn''t be something I''d like though. She at least has that big diamond heart on her bracelet! I can well imagine that piece.

after the "rock" charm Edward gave Bella, I can''t see him even considering that ring for Bella. Loved Twilight as much as diamonds, but that is a huge disappointment. I''m going with the oval halo in my mind too, it is so much better!

Oh February2003 bride, i know SM didn''t design but i think she had final say. Just wished she''d made a better choice!

here''s another ring i found, other than it being pear shape, i think it''s the same sort of idea as the other ring but its seems much better done. Nicer look to it! If i had to i could live with this ring but the other is well, i think you know my thoughts on it so i''ll stop repeating myself! I think i''ll shut up for now!

I was also a fan of the books and agree that the ring is blech. I was envisioning an antique navette style ring, almost marquise shaped - has kind of a vampy vibe

But not THAT.

Kind of like this, only more diamonds in the middle.
