Beautiful what I believe to be amethyst ring

Does anybody have any insight on to what era this ring came from and if the stone is indeed an amethyst? I've tried looking up this ring all over the Internet and I cannot find anything remotely close please help.

Hi, it could be amythest or a stimulant, yes they even make fake amythest these days! The halo is set with marcasites. I presume the ring is silver (stamped 925) but it might be a base metal with a silver coating.
These style of rings are quite popular, if you put “amythest and marcasite ring” into eBay.com search you’ll be able to see/find other similar style rings.
