Wow, Denise, those are stunning! Do you get those kind of sunrises often there or was today unusual?

Thanks Patty

I don''t recall ever seeing the sky that red and vibrant. It was truly amazing and quite stunning.

It doesn''t seem to like my # file names. Lets try again.

Here are some sunset pictures taken from our house which is on a ridgetop with a 240 degree panoramic view.
We see sunrises through the master bedroom and the kitchen,
and sunsets through the kitchen, family room, dining room, living room and the backyard.

For some reason, our Bird of Paradise plant likes to flower in the winter

Here is a sunrise picture

My mom told me that Irish Leprechauns buried their pots of gold where rainbows touched the earth. No wonder cflutist scurried off with a shovel in her hands when she saw these rainbows!

JUST KIDDING!

Johan''s frernd / family took this.

Who would want to live in Sydney (we have strong rivalry between Sydney and Melbourne - the worlds most liveable city)

Garry, those are awesome pics! Cflutist you have a beautiful home. Love all the sunrise and sunsets folks. Great shots and lovely colors.

Many a day on my way to work I have marveled at the sunrises over Lake Michigan. Looking forward to the day I don''t have to get to work and can carry my camera with me, and stop and take all the time I want to enjoy and take pictures.

Absolutely amazing pix Denise, Emeraldgirl, Cflutist!!! And Gary those lightning shots are amazing! I really love a great sunrise/sunset shot and Denise ... the definition in those clouds is just amazing. Cflutist ... what an INCREDIBLE VIEW from your backyard!!! :) You are blessed to be able to wake up to such scenery. God bless you.

I have some very neat sunrise photos to share too! They are on my Hard Drive and don''t have webspace to use to post them.

Any suggestions, or tricks I can use?

Rhino, thanks for the compliment. Websailor and I do feel very fortunate to live where we do (well except for the earthquakes in CA). In addition to the beautiful sunrises, sunsets, lightning shows, and moonrises, we also get to see large birds flying overhead, e.g. hawks, turkey vultures, and even a great blue herron that went after my neighbor''s koi fish.

When websailor and I got serious about each other, I said "do you want to move in with me since I was not planning to move from this gorgeous location". He said sure. So websailor moved into my house. Someday we hope to build a vacation home on his 2 acre property south of Mendocino CA, overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
