Hi there,

So, I''m still looking for something special for my anniversary gift. At first I was thinking of adding a Michael B. micro pave eternity ring to my current wedding set:

Now I''m thinking of adding diamonds to my plain plat engagment ring band....but adding a bead setting. I''m concerned this may not look good with my channel set wedding band....any advice? Would it be difficult to convert a channel to a bead setting?

My advice is that it would probably be easier and look better to change to new settings if you want a beadset e-ring and w-band. Your rings look lovely, though, and I personally probably would leave them as they are. What about diamond studs or a pendant or a right hand ring?

Is the bead really different than a channel? Or is the difference slight?

Here are some more pics of my rings:

Hopefully a jeweler will come and answer your specific question. I have a bead set band and the stones are not held in by a channel. They are set into the metal and there are little beads of metal holding them in. With channel set, the stones are held in by the metal edges of the setting. So I am not really seeing how a channel set can be changed to bead set, but I am not a jeweler, either!

i don''t think that a channel set could be changed to a bead set ring, other than having them remake the ring. anything else might just be cobbled together.

personally i like bead set better than channel visually but it''s a preference thing. i think that a channel w-ring and a bead set e-ring might be a little mismatched visually but it depends on how strict you are about having symmetry and things match.

See...that''s my problem...I''m so picky and I prefer that things are consistant....

Uggghhhhh.....decisions, decisions....I''m wondering now if I could just have them use my diamonds and have them reset into a pave/bead settting.

Oh - that''s my other question.....do pave bands and bead set bands look similar? They seem to look pretty close when viewing pic''s online....

I would really love a professional opinion or someone who has done something similar to their wedding set in the past...
