Can anyone recommend a 2mm mounting with diamonds along the band? I like the Ritani setting but the sparkle is very subtle and it is a bit on the pricey side. I perused Pearlmans and Solomon Bros, but nothing really caught my eye (I could be missing something though).

Thanks so much!

Sorry to bump this, but no one has responded. Although I have my heart set on the SP shared-prong, so many people have had problems with this that I''m shying away from it. Hopefully I can find alternatives though! Or do ya''ll think that it will be a lot more than $1500?

Here''s one

at Wink''s

There should be hand pictures of the very think with a large square radiant on SMTR....

Since this is one of their custom options, the setting could probably be made to accomodate any shape and size of center stone.

There must be others... of course.

James Allen has several bead set and micropave settings under $1500 (I believe they are all gold) but it does not give the width of the settings on their web site.

This is the closest one I could find on James Allen in platinum -- the E15 by Danhov. Again, it doesn''t give the width but it looks pretty thin. http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement_rings/meno_collection_by_danhov.asp?module=setting&cid=301&item=704&name=7001&shape=

Gottllieb & Sons also has several too, but again, it does not list the width on their web site. (www.gottlieb-sons.com)

That is one of my favorite settings from Wink.

peonygirl- you may want to do a search on pave or pave settings before deciding. They can be very high maintainance settings with the worry of possible losing a stone. many times the rings that are more $$ are so because of the labor involved in setting the tiny stones. the smaller the stones the harder it is and the bench person must use a microscope to set the stones. Many times the cheaper pave rings found are cast or mass produced in china or somewhere and may suffer in quality. I do really like that setting from Wink and it does fall within your budget amount. you may call him about changing the head or something to get it exactly like you want it.

Did you try WF? I know a lot of people have had pave work done from them and their prices are reasonable.

something like this one..

IF you love the Ritani, I''d also give Bill Pearlman a call. It never hurts to ask if he''ll negotiate the price a bit

Thanks so much for your help everyone! I love this board! :)

Luckily David at SP just emailed me to say that the problem has been fixed with the rubbing diamond girdles/prongs! Yay! So I think I''m just going to ahead and get the ring from there because I love the style and the price is right. Thanks again though!

Did he say how this has been fixed?

Nope, but I emailed him about it. Hopefully they just got rid of diamond overhang vs. making the prongs bigger or leaving a large gap between the rings. I'll let you know when he replies!

Good to know they fixed the problem. I too want to know how they solved this.

I have been wondering about that too... David never got back to me. And when I looked at the Memorie bands (Eye Candy Folder) It looks to me like the girdles are exposed. Which is what we have all been thinking the issue is, and that the memorie band somehow did not have this issue.

Matadora, David didn''t get back to me for a whole month, so I emailed him again on Friday and got a reply today. Maybe they fixed the problem very recently.
