Ladies,

Thanks for all your help in picking out a wedding dress... now it''s time to see the accessories!

I ordered a 30x90 72 inch wide chapel length ivory veil with scattered pearls but it''s not in yet. I have two sets of wedding jewelry that I can''t decide between; one is already purchased (the glittery set, for my first dress) and paid for and I can''t really return it so I am stuck with it. Set two (pearl set) is a cheapy necklace that I really actually like (except the chain length is maybe too short but that can be fixed) and some pearl earrings; either ones I already own (the studs, a gift from FI the first year we dated) or some pearl drops, also shown. I wouldn''t wear those particular drops I think his mom has some nicer ones she would let me borrow.

What do you think?

First, my cool beachy sunglasses with pearls and rhinestones. At $34 I felt a little ridiculous spending the money but they were SO cute I couldn''t get away with not buying them.

Jewelry set #2... new pearl $20 necklace, either old studs of mine from FI, or pearl drops from his mom (nicer than these...)

and my $10 kitten heel wedding shoes.
Can you tell I don''t like to spend money!?

Dilemma:

Glittery set #1 is really, really pretty and makes me feel very bridal... but also maybe a little prom? FI was with me when I bought it, I know he really likes it a lot. I have about $50 in this set and I don''t know if I''d ever get the chance to wear it again, but is it too much with the low v-cut? The dress is trimmed in pearls and so is the veil.

Pearl set #2 is good b/c I think it looks a little more classy and "mature" for lack of a better term. FI loves pearls and it would be a nice sentiment to either wear his mom''s or my own from him. It doesn''t have the OOMPH of set 1 but it is more restrained, I suppose. And would match better with the dress. Hmmm.

My vote is for the pearl set #2 , IMO, it seems to go better with the neckline of your dress than the glittery set. I like the length it is right now and I wouldn''t want it to go too far down.

i say pearls. it seems a bit more grown up and bridal.

oh, and i LOVE this dress!!

Definitely the pearl set. Much more elegant and fits the style of the dress best.

No doubt- the pearls

IMO.

I love the pearls... the shape goes great with the neckline of your dress, and besides, pearls feel a little more beachy.

I like the drop earrings more than the studs... they''re elegant and simple, but just enough touch of formal for a wedding, without going overboard on the beach.

The pearl drop earrings and the second necklace with the pearl pendant all the way!

i''d definitely go with the pearls. i agree with everyone else that the line of the necklace works better with the line of your dress. and i think it would be great if you could borrow his mother''s earrings. if i read your last thread correctly she won''t actually be there, right? if she isn''t it would be nice if her earrings were. either way you''ll look beautiful in that dress!!

Yep... #2!

I''m with ya on spending money...if I can''t wear it again it''s hard for me to pay a big price tag for wedding stuff!

I think the pearl necklace with the cut of your dress is a better choice than the first set. I vote for the drop earrings over the studs.

I also vote pearls.

BTW, I''m looking for some cute pearl drop earrings - where did you find those?

My vote is for the pearls too!!! i think they go perfectly with your dress...oh and I love the sunglasses!!! I am totally a sunglasses junkie...

PEARLS! IMO, they fit better with the beach wedding, tie in with the pears on your dress & veil, and are a classier, more mature look.

If you don''t think you''ll wear the other set, maybe you can return or exchange them?

I vote for pearl earrings and no necklace.
I think your dress, a veil, earrings and a bouquet would be fresh and sophisticated and not overdone.

Scintillating...

SanDiegoLady- the sunglasses are Fossil brand (?) and I got them at macy''s. I just could not resist.

Saturn- the pearl drop earrings are not even real; they are silver and fake pearls, I got them on clearance one day a long time ago for $5 or $6.

StephensBride- Unfortunately the tags and receipt for the earrings and necklace #1 are already gone, and it''s already past the 30 day period anyway. I am really upset about that... maybe FI will take me somewhere else really nice where I can wear them? No idea.

Thanks for all your input! I am a little sad that no one liked set #1 mostly because I feel terrible that I spent the money and can''t return them. His sisters also donated a few pearl pendants to the cause that I haven''t seen yet but will this weekend...

Don''t feel bad... they are pretty and you bought them before you picked the dress, right? [Which is how I ended up with four pairs of wedding shoes!] If you don''t want to keep them, there''s always ebay!

I bought them before I bought dresses #2, #3, and #4, and lusted after #5.

Would set #1 be too much for a cocktail party? A really fancy one hehe?

I do like the first necklace and earrings you posted, but I agree, the pearls are fantastic!

I think you could definitely wear the other necklace and earrings to a cocktail-type event, or even an evening wedding.

I think you cold definitely wear set #1 again...

But wearing it as a set usually makes things a little more dressy, I think you could get away with wearing the earings alone out to dinner, or just the necklace with some complimentary studs at a party. I see lots of girls wearing dressy earings with more casual clothing when thy go out at night.

You should still be able to get some mileage out of all your wedding jewelry!! (well, unless you are wearing a tiara... wearing that out again may be a little much unless it is halloween
