Hi everyone.

I have a quick question about a battery operated ultrasonic cleaner.

My fiance and I have noticed her ering gets dirty very easily and to save her scrubbing every three days I''ve decided to look into an ultrasonic cleaner for her. Just something she can drop the ring into every week or so and keep it sparkly.

I have noticed one which is available that is fairly inexpensive which is the Handy Trends Perfect Jewelry Cleaner and I like the way it uses water and ultrsonic waves only:

Has anybody heard of this product and if so, does it work okay?

Could anyone recommend any other battery operated and/or inexpensive ultrsonic cleaners thay may have experienced on the market at the moment?

Thanks heaps for any help you may be able to offer

anything that uses just water is not going to work; you need a basic solution. you want a true ultrasonic cleaner, not something that emits a sound and ripples the surface.

Hi and welcome

If you do a search, there are many threads on this subject with PSer's reviews.

This is a good thread for you to read, but warning....it is long!

SI Ultrasonic Cleaner

Also if your fiance lets her diamond get dirty, she isn't going to get the best from it. Many of us clean daily with Windex, liquid ammonia or plain old washing up liquid and water, brush and rinse well, then use an ultrasonic weekly - or some even use them daily. Diamonds are magnets for dirt and grease, cleaning daily will in no way harm your diamond or setting.

Also as Julie says, basic water is not going to work, you do need a solution to break up the greasy film that settles on diamonds.

You really should get a model up from this and use the solution that doesn''t cost much. You can buy a quart of solution that makes 20 quarts for $7.95

Hope this helps.

I think you''re all correct in the advice of stepping up a model.

I''ve been looking into other threads as suggested and there seems to be a lot of wraps on the SI Ultrasonic cleaner but as I live in Australia I''m having trouble finding one over this way.

I''ve found one that is reasonably priced though (for Australia anyway) which is the Codyson CD-6800. I have inluded an image and link to their website below.

It seems to measure up to anything else I''ve seen around. Has anybody had any experience with this make and/or model?

Thanks once again!
