I'm still traumatised, perhaps I need therapy?

The why's and wherefore's have been omitted to protect the person in question, suffice to say a family member used our guest WC. That seems normal enough so far, right? As usual I went into the WC later in the day to give it a quick clean and almost gagged. It was abundantly clear that she was menstruating as there were blood smears on the seat, large spots of blood on toilet roll, fingerprints/smears on the basin pedestal and wait for it, 2 large drips of blood on the floor.

I mean, really.

In my entire life I have never once had the need to use the bathroom in such a way that I needed to leave it as if it were a crime scene in CSI.

I actually asked my poor husband to clean it, I was so traumatised. I think I still am, although I have used the WC since then.

Unacceptable. She should have cleaned up after herself.

Disgusting! And totally unnecessary! If she was a young teen just getting her period, I would be more sympathetic, but it doesn''t sound like that''s the case. I also hope your family member is not ill. That sort of mess, particularly outside one''s own home (not that it''s okay even in one''s home), is very strange, and would raise a few red flags in my mind. I honestly don''t know what to think about this. I''m stunned. I''d feel so weird next time I saw her if I was you.

OMG!!!

That is very disrespectful. I don''t understand why she wouldn''t clean up after herself.

Oh my goodness, the girl has no shame!! I would be mortified if I were her, here''s no way I''d leave a "drop" of evidence!!! Geez, some people...

Inexcusable. She certainly would never be welcome in my home again.

my exact reaction. awful.

That. Is. Horrifying.

You know what I just can''t wrap my head around? How on earth does one manage to get blood everywhere?? It doesn''t even make sense for a 13 year old. Was she hopping around the bathroom with her panties bunched around her knees????

And is she blind? Didn''t she notice the blood spillage eveywhere??

I am seriously baffled.

Thank you all for the support, I''m glad I''m not living in a twilight zone where this is normal and I am the only one who had not (up to then) experienced this.

And thank you for this visual! I really laughed out loud

.

I began to wonder if this was normal? I asked DH if I ever left evidence in the powder room and he said never (thank God). So then I wondered if it was just me and did ''normal'' women slosh everywhere.

I have no clue how she got blood everywhere; fair enough on the seat and toilet roll. Well, gross. But it would be fathomable to contact those areas. How though, did she smear on the pedestal; not the sink, I mean the supporting pedestal that hides the pipe work. Who even touches that in the bathroom and why? I really feel queasy about it all.

Should I mention she had a number of alcoholic drinks during the day so she may have been tipsy.

My thoughts are, sorry if this is gross.. Maybe she was without a tampon and had to get up and search for one in your bathroom?? Maybe in her drunken state she dropped said tampon under the sink and had to lean against pedestal to retrieve it??

Absolutely disgusting, and totally not normal to leave a mess like that. Since she had been drinking, I guess she either didn''t realize or didn''t care. Sorry you had to have such a strange and unsettling experience Steal, my stomach is turning just thinking about it.

omg. well if she was drunkie then i can def see how she may not have noticed it all. and ew.

or maybe she cut herself somehow and in her state didn't really notice either? but then i guess you'd have blood elsewhere in the house too.

gross. i can't even imagine.

This is what I was wondering too, Kama. HOW does one even make this kind of a mess??? HOW???

Ew. Who doesn''t clean up after themselves? Geez Louise. I''d be traumatized, too.

I''d take photos, email them to her and tell her if she doesn''t get her butt over to clean up her mess you''ll . . . email them to her friends and family.

Yes, this is a horrible thing to do, but not as horrible as what she did to you.

It is totally appropriate for this woman to get a huge dose of embarrassment and learn a lesson here.

OMG. gross

HOW OLD IS SHE??????

My mouth is wide open. I mean that''s just wrong.

First I''d ask her if she was aware of it....

OK, I''m a guy - but I have cut myself and left blood dripping over half the house before I realized that I was bleeding (I''ve done this several times in fact). The worst one was a foot where I had left smeared partial foot prints on three floors before I realized it.... (and I only realized it when I headed back upstairs from the basement as that was when I first doubled back over my path from the 2nd floor of the house where it all started. Good thing I don''t have carpeting...

Now if she was aware of it... Then a talking too is in order.

But if she was not aware of it (for whatever reason) - then I''d be concerned on why she was not aware....

I can''t imagine how that happened, and don''t really want to know, LOL!!

You poor thing, that''s really gross.

Sick. Definitely not normal but I would never in a million years confront her. I shudder to think how awkward that conversation would be.

Ha WOW! She must have been pretty damn tipsy to not notice that much blood! Eesh.

Gross! Maybe being tipsy explains a little, but not really. I would have to be practically walking unconscious to not notice that! Yuk! Seriously, I would probably have to say something. Gross, yuk and yuk.

I think the being drunk and lacking a tampon/dropping said tampon was probably a likely story....

Maybe she was defrosting large quantities of meat in there for her dogs?

LOL didn''t someone recently have an upstairs neighbor do this and cover her balcony in blood? Ewww.

Now, I am one of those really unlucky excessive bleeders for the first two days of my cycle. I''m not THIS bad, but I can understand it a lot more than most people I think. However, if it had been me, I would have at least cleaned up my mess. Gross.

So disturbing, yet your wording was freaking hilarious at the same time.

What about sending an email to yourself w/her as a BCC, pretending to email all the lady guests expressing your disappointed with the whole situation. That way, she''ll think you don''t know who it was, so you aren''t pointing a finger - but she''ll for sure get the message. AND she''ll think that everyone else there now knows the story, yet does not know who did it either....but in reality, only she is receiving the email.

Did that even make sense? I''ve had a glass of wine (or so) so in my head it totally sounds brilliant.
