I have two rings that need work, and I'm trying to decide if I should repair & keep them or start over. They are often worn as a stack: wedding band, Anniversary band, and engagement ring.

1. Engagement ring - after 14 years, I lost my first stone in the micro pave. Many people advise against micro pave, which I understand, but my personal experience has been very good (until now). The wedding band is the same as the band for the engagement ring and ideally will be a part of some thing I wear every day, but that, too is TBD. The engagement stone is a sparkly POH.

2. 5 year anniversary ring - a bar-set eternity band. Sadly, the ring has never been stable, but I love it so. 2 stones popped out the first week I had it - due to a warped shopping carriage handle - in a parking lot...by a miracle, I found both stones! A jeweler reset and repaired the ring (they added gold to the bars and stabilized the stones). Since then, stones regularly become loose, and now it is living in my safe and I miss it. I've never had a bar ring before and wonder if they are inherently unstable? I love the look of the ring, but I'd love to wear it and not worry. It is also a little too big, so I wear it between my wedding ring and engagement ring.

I love them, but since this is an opportunity to consider change, I'm exploring ideas, and there is no better place than here to develop ideas. What do you think?IMG_2032.jpeg

bar set rings are my favorite but I would never buy/plan one as a full eternity ring; perhaps a half eternity.

I love the look - it drew me in right away! One of the options I’ve been thinking of is to repurpose some of the stones and have a half or 3/4 bar set band made. I’ve also toyedbwith the idea of mounting my ER stone on that band, but am guessing setting a head on that configuration might be difficult. It would also make the ER less flexible (dressing down, specifically).
