Hi again,
So I found another cushion cut that I put on hold. I stated in another thread that I wasn't sure about the AGS "good" cut rating, so I wasn't sure if this diamond was the best choice.

Here is the link: http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/I-VS2-Good-Cut-Cushion-Diamond-1541918.asp

I requested an ASET and for the gemologist to look at it. I didn't have any other options on the site to compare it to. Except a diamond that I was going to put on hold, but someone else did before me.. If said diamond is not bought by that person (they have until this afternoon to decide), I have already requested to have it put on hold for me, and maybe the two can be compared.

Anyways, what do you think about this choice? Thank you!

It has potential. I can't load the certificate so I can't see the "good" next to cut grade on the certificate. The only "good" I see is JA rating, and as I said before, that is meaningless. I think you just need to get the ASET and post it.

I like the one you posted. It looks nice. Seems like JA is getting more and more antique cushion cuts in all the time.

Have you noticed how many OMB's JA has been getting in their inventory? Cool huh? Here's a few....not that they are in your budget.

Dont know if this link will work but if you put in depth 69 and table 58 you will get the better cut cushions to come up.

I've started to notice that some of the "ideal" cushion cuts look really bad...hmmmm.

That's because it's not a lab cut grade. Just a meaningless vendor one.

There is no cut grade on that certificate.

If there was it would say "cut grade" or it would say "light performance" or something.

Like I said, there are only a VERY few (3??) cushion likes that get graded for that by AGS and they are proprietary. Generic cushions do not have cut grades given to them by any lab.

Ahhh I see. Well thanks for taking a look at it. I was supposed to get the ASET today but didn't so I guess I'll just wait on that

No ASET yet, still waiting
