Hello!
And thank you for this amazing site which has helped me alot and prevented me from making huge mistakes
at the local jewelry stores here!:D hehe..

Saturday is the big proposal day, and here is what I''ve come up with considering prize and availebility:

Ring:
-Attached file()
-18k white gold
-1650 USD
Description: "This stunning sleek new design is perfect for the modern bride. The center stone (not included) is set low and the matching band (sold separately) fits flush against the setting. This ring is set with approx. 0.20 ct of pavée diamonds (FG-VS)."

Diamond:
Laser Inscription Registry: GIA 15506549
HCA: 1, ex,ex,ex,ex

Round Brilliant
Measurements: 5.01 - 5.04 x 3.00 mm
Carat Weight: 0.46
Color Grade: E
Clarity Grade: SI2
Cut Grade: Very Good
Proportions:
Depth: 59.7 %
Table: 59 %
Crown Angle: 34°
Crown Height: 13.5 %
Pavilion Angle: 40.6°
Pavilion Depth: 42.5 %
Star length: 55 %
Lower Half: 75 %
Girdle: Thin to Medium, Faceted

My only worries is the polish, clarity (SI2), and Girdle..
The typical concern with SI2 is whether an inclusion is eye-visible. If you couldn''t see it, you should be good...or...if you could...you know the extent it would represent a problem.

In that carat weight, I would recommend going down to G or H. I have a 0.85 carat Ideal H-Si1 for my center stone and it is icy white. Many SI2 in that carat weight are also eye-clean. If you drop in color, you could get a larger stone or get better clarity if you''re so inclined.

Good luck.

Why are you worried about the girdle? That is the ideal range. Polish is worrying.

Have you actually seen the stone? You order the ring yet?

Thank you for response
I have not seen the stone no..I have been looking through the diamonddatabase in the store of which I''m purchasing the ring, and this seem to be (so far) the best choice for stone (prize and size (Minimum 5mm diameter)).
I don''t think its possible for me to see the stone since I''m buying it from the online store..Maybe I can get them to send a picture or a GIA report with picture.

Err... you sure you can get it done before this Saturday? Looks to me like you are cutting a little bit close here.

I think you''ve got one shot at this, since you want to present this Saturday...if you even still have the option.

Ask the host if it''s eye clean (especially if you regard this as a criteria). No one wants to absorb needless shipping charges

And, consider paying the additional shipping charges for a second option, a safety...that''s VS2. Buy one, pay shipping for both.

Just ideas...

That is a STUNNING setting! Congrats!

Thank you all for response and tips!:)

Yeah, the host will insert the stone in the ring and then ship it from new york to hawaii, so I very
doubtfully will have it by saturday.. Out of nowhere came a jewish holiday causing the store to close for two days

So I will probably come up with some sort of backupring..

I will look more close into that diamond, and maybe look for another better option in their database.

Is it a good price for the ring (1650$) ?

I love the setting! I have never seen one like that!!! Can you post pictures when you get it?!

Hello all!:)
