Australian Solid Black Opal Halo Diamond Ring

Backstory —I happened on this ring last week and instantly fell in love. But. Knowing nothing about opals and the price being more than I was comfortable with to pay for a synthetic stone, I passed. However, I kept thinking about it and posted in the colored gems forum. So many helpful people enabled me to take a chance and I got the vendor to give me exchange credit if it turned out to be synthetic. This morning, I dropped by a gem specialist and jeweler and both confirmed that it is indeed an Australian Solid black opal. It has been a while since I posted a thread on any of my individual purchases, but I am so smitten with this one bc of all its personalities so I figured that I would do it justice with all these pictures! The diamonds in the halo are old cuts with very tall tables. Idk if that makes them rose cuts or omc. It does have a tiny chip but it is easy for me to overlook, given that even the chip is adorable and serves to highlight yet another color.
