I have a friend coming into Boston tomorrow and she wants to stop in at the R W Wise store. You''ve worked with him before, right? Is there anything you (or any other PS lady) can tell me/her about his gems? Do you like ''em? Is his photography representative of their color? Any info or opinion you have would be so helpful.

A PS guy here
I have two stones I bought from Richard Wise. A spessartite which was listed on his online catalogue and I chose after a couple of phone converstations with him. The spessartite was better than I anticipated and is much better than it appeared in the photograph.
The second is a large, fine red Tourmaline that Richard found for me at the Tuscon gem show a couple of shows ago. It''s still my favourite gem.
I''m very envious that you''re visiting his store, I''m presuming you''re going to accompany your friend- if you are, I''d really like to hear how it went..
btw, I remember that Harriet has visited his store so I hope she sees this thread, I''m sure she will would have some information.

Heya! It was great seeing you again too.

I''m afraid I''ll be no help with Richard Wise info. My husband did purchase my demantoid from him but that was all done via the phone and it was a stone he called in rather than one from his site. Do you get to go with her to his store? If so, bring your camera and report back!

It is a 2 1/2 hour drive from boston to lenox mass. 130 miles or so.
