Have a .92 princess cut now.
Will I see a size difference at 1.10? 1.20?
What has been your experiences with upgrading?

Peepa, this thread might be best in Rocky Talk!

As to your question, there aren''t any straightforward answers, as you need to compare the diameter measurements of actual diamonds rather than carat weight to determine any actual difference in size - do you have any examples in mind?

Oh darn, I thought about RockyTalky first.
And no, I don''t have diameter measurements.

No worries, I will ask admin to move it!

The thing is Peepa that diamonds can vary with face up size, and with weight distribution particularly with fancy shapes, so carat weight doesn''t always indicate face up size that you want in your diamond. Generally a well cut stone should have a good spread for the weight, but it is more difficult to analyse cut quality for Princess with a few numbers, so you could get a lesser cut diamond even look small or large for it''s weight. As you can see, there are many variables, so that is why having actual examples is more meaningful.

Just going on logic, and assuming all other factors such as cut quality are equivalent (they may not be!), I would say that you would be able to tell the difference with either. My reasoning is that a 1.0ct princess looks about the size of a 0.75ct round, and a 1.25 ct princess looks about the size of a 1ct round. I can tell the difference with the round stones, so why not with princesses?

Upgrading depends on where you bought the stone originally. I haven''t upgraded, but I''m sure someone can give you advice if you give us some more info!

I start to see a pretty noticeable difference at a 20% increase in diameter measurements. You''ll see a slight difference with a lower increase, but for it to really be worth it 20% is a good increase.
