Before I rattle any cages...I''m sure the actual diamond is beautiful.
I use this image is a reference to help illustrate my questions.

#1 The ACA classification:
In general, what level of Hearts and Arrows symmetry is required for a diamond to be called "A Cut Above"? Is there an objective threshold of acceptable deviations?

#2...is the symmetry of the light leakage something to be concerned with or is it just a problem with the angle of the photo was taken at? The arrows look symmetric, and the hearts (though not displayed here) also looked very good.

This diamond appears to be a classic cut, but the white areas around the edges are asymetrical. What does this relate to performance wise, and does this throw any warning flags.

thanks in advance....

it appears whitflash are pumping a bit more light into their IS set up.
So those little bits are not normally so visible because this is a slightly painted stone. Because the effect is so close to slight / some leakage - it is showing an intensity variance that the Ideal-scope exaggerates.

Howver if anyone tells you that the painting is a problem then I will see they are tared and feathered.

interesting.
thanks gary.

I imagine the extra light is useful to help increase the contrast and definition.

Would this method of pumping extra light mask any potential problems with a diamond?

On the contrary - it shows more leakage and makes problems where there are none.
