Assymetric proportions in diamond studs!

Hi!

I have a pair of black diamond studs that has the same diameter, 3.5 mm. But the depth (?) of the diamonds are not symmetric! Is this normal? One has more "length" to it than the other one.
 
Possible, depends on the way the stone is cut.
 
They have a round cut and from above they look very much the same, but one of the stones are visibly smaller in it''s basket when looking at the earrings from the side.

Yes this is entirely possible, could be the depth of one is shallower than the other but face up they are of similar size.
 
Possible. Probably different angles and table size for the 2 stones, maybe even the girdle thickness is different.
