I kindly request for your help. I have read all the tutorials available, done my research, and asked the representative from an online retailer I am working with hopefully the right questions. I have been sent some IS images on options I have narrowed down. From my untrained eyes they all look the same!! Please assist me in interpreting the images!

The most important thing to me is cut, followed by size. Color and clarity are low on my priority list as long as it is eye clean. Without further delay, here are my current options! All are GIA cert with 3xEX in cut, polish, and symmetry

Option 1 1.51ct J color SI2 (feather near the upper girdle that can be hidden with a prong) 7.38 x 7.4 x 4.56 61.7 depth x 56 table, 34.5 crown x 41 pavilion HCA 1.8, EX, VG, VG, VG

Option 2 1.53ct J color SI1 (crystal that can be hidden with prong) 7.36 x 7.4 x 4.53 61.3 depth x 58 table, 34.5 crown x 40.6 pavilion HCA 0.9, EX, EX, EX, VG

Option 3 1.54ct J color SI1 (eye clean) 7.41 x 7.45 x 4.56 61.3 depth x 58 table, 35 crown x 41 pavilion HCA 2.4, VG, VG, VG, VG Med flo

I have been advices that option 1 and 3 are the best in light performance despite the HCA score. I am leaning towards option 3 due ti the flo and eye clean. Any suggestions, any explanation on the images are appreciated!

Hi Ophy, based on the given info and image, Option 2 will probably be my choice, Option 1 and 3 have light leakages + I don't alws trust the sales person's recommendation  Are you able to see and compare the stones IRL?

Looks like the first and third are showing some leakage in the center?? I would rule out the third with an HCA over 2.

My pick would be #2 based on image and HCA.

Hmm. Don't know though- 2.4 is close and the vendor say it outperforms the 2nd/. Now I'm torn

I would go with option 3...their gemologist recommended it, it is eye-clean, and it looks like the IS image might be tilted a bit...in any case the 'leakage' shown is not something to worry about. plus, HCA does not matter when you have idealscope images.

If the gemologist says 3 is eyeclean and is the best performer- id go with it. They have the stone in person to evaluate.

SLG made a good point- the first and third stone may be tilted in the images...

slg47 & Amys Bling,

How do we tell if the stone is tilted? TIA... pardon the noobie question, still trying to learn.

You could contact the vendor

O no no no... sorry I meant to ask how do we tell that the stone could be tilted from the IS image?
