Unfortunately to the best of my knowledge, BN do not provide such services as photos or other cut analysis tools for their diamonds. As you may know, it is not possible to judge a fancy shape - which includes Asschers - without detailed pics and other images.
Lorelei is absolutely right--BN doesn''t provide photos. Also, BN can''t tell you if the stone is eye-clean. With Asschers, a VS2 is most likely eye-clean, but not always. Your best bet with BN is to buy the stones you''re interested in, then send back the stones you don''t want which is obviously a more involved process than working with a vendor who can give you pictures and assess the stone with his/her own eyes.
My stone is from Blue Nile, but it is a round brilliant, which can be judged on the #''s to some degree, but no, they can''t provide much more than the GIA cert. They did provide SARINs for some of the stones I was considering, but for an Asscher you need photos. Even w/ all the reports and info the PS vendors provide, it is tough to find that perfect Asscher, so you are going to need all the resources and tools available at your disposal. Also, Asschers face up smaller than rounds, and when I was looking at them in the 1ct range, I was doing so w/ the thought of possibly upgrading someday, and Blue Nile doesn''t have an upgrade policy. Good luck in your search!
Hi JNYC. Did you ever go to the GOG shop in the diamond district? That should be your next step. Does Blue Nile have a B&M? If they did and it was in NYC, then perhaps you can arrange to see the stones in person?
Hi Kat -
I have plans to visit GOG in the next two weeks. Still checking online vendors for spec/price references.
I want to at least appear to be an informed consumer..lol
