Hi! How''s the asscher above? Is the dark area too dark / a problem?
Do you need more pics/information to make a determination?

My o my, this hunt is taking a while =) ! Asscher #4178 was not recommended here, then it was. It was almost perfect for me, but nothing else has come close (within budget), almost regret passing on it.

Thanks again!

I''m not an expert but just by the looks of it I don''t care for it. That dark area seems to cover 1/3 - 1/2 of the stone

the center would be a no go on a drop style but I rather like it on a wide step.
I need a video on this one to see how it effects the life of the stone.

okey dokey. There was a video posted a month ago on http://www.goodoldgold.com/video/ but I can''t seem to find it now. I saved a copy on my fiance''s computer - any way I can have him upload it somewhere?

From what I can recall, the dark area was noticeable, there was good contrast, and "steps" that the #4178 diamond did not.

Thanks again for your responses!

Hi! While patiently waiting for GOG to open again on Tuesday, I came across this online. I like the wide corners - is it worth asking for more information? It looks washed out - not much contrast, is it because of funky picture taking?

Thanks again everyone!

does seem like your having a hard time finding one.
a kicken asscher will be worth the hassle.

Thanks for the encouragement!

Looks like they put up new pictures for the asscher. I''ve been eyeing it but it is a little out of my budget.

Hi jplouis! Thanks for letting me know. Jonathan also emailed.

Have you contacted him? He''s great, and will search around for you. They have access to much more than listed online. They''ve been great to work with.

Good Luck with your search!

I haven''t talked to Jonathan yet. I just picked out a setting and am going to give the store a chance first and see if they can find a royal asscher. If I got my own stone I''d have to send it to the US store and they would ship it to Australia where all their rings are made and set, whereas they do the diamond locating from Australia.

Clop,

Sorry to take the 4178 from your prospects, although, being from Boise, ID, there was very limited asschers for me to look at. I went to NY to visit the diamond district and saw several that were terrible. I felt like I was never going to find what I want, however, I will give praise to Jon. He seems to sell his business on quality diamonds, and if he didn''t deliver, he wouldn''t be regarded as highly as he is here. Feel free to send me a message with any questions, I''d be glad to discuss. jouefoot AT --gmail.com

Regards,

Josh

Hi jplouis,

ooh very nice, Royal Asscher! Very beautiful stones. Initially I was in the market for them as well, but they carry a premium. Also, they have a "busier" look than generic asschers. There are some good threads w/ picture comparisons. The Canturi settings you're considering are gorgeous; they're an excellent choice for asschers, certainly very unique.

Hi, thanks Josh!

I'm glad you found your perfect kicken asscher! I can't wait to see pictures of the stone! Yes GOG has certainly been wonderful to work with. They are extremely accommodating. Congratulations again on your stone. Hopefully I'll find one soon too
