Thought I''d ask for opinions on this asscher from JA. My girlfriend prefers the more octagonal/bigger windmills look I believe, but thought I''d ask for analysis anyway. To my very untrained eye this stone doesn''t look all that bad. But that''s why I love these boards--you all are invaluable!!

By the way, what sort of girdle is desirable for an asscher? Does it make a big difference?

Ok, the specs:

And the sarin report...

Ideal Scope...

looks kicken to me.
Small windmills is the only slight downgrade and some people love them that way.

Oh no!! I was prepared to let this stone go and keep looking, but now it''s received a "kickin" from Storm. NOW what??

Just kidding. Thanks, Storm. I value your opinion greatly. I just found this one on Good Old Gold. It has the wider windmills...how does the rest of it look?

If you can''t tell already, I''m looking to get the best asscher possible within this range:
E-G color
VS2 or better
1.5+ carat

$10k-$11k

Don't like that one ASET and DiamXray look pathetic.
Also the crown height is low for that depth.

One more to look at. Can someone confirm the differences in appearance between this stone and the stone at the top of this thread are due to the lighting conditions when the photos were taken? This one just looks like it has more pop to me on first glance. I''m awaiting Sarin/ID Scope data...one of the pavilion steps seems a little dark to me.

That said, both stones are 1.5 ct, F, VS1, vg/vg...yet this stone is $1,000 more expensive.
