Asscher search, so excited, had to share!

I'm bursting and besides SO I don't really have anyone else to tell who will really "get" it (I'm not even sure he totally gets it).
SO and I officially asked Jonathan at GOG to find an asscher for us!!! I'm SOOO excited, I might burst! (like a Kristen Wiig skit on SNL...if anyone's seen it!)

I had previously been engaged (over 5 years ago now) and although I was happy with my stone, after being on PS I was not so happy about the money paid when I realized how much better I could have done with a PS vendor. Not only that, but I've been in love with asschers FOREVER! The first time I stumbled upon one in a local B&M I knew that's what I wanted (I was a teenager at the time). Alas, I let too many uneducated jewelers and non-PS people talk me out of an asscher for a myriad of (dumb) reasons. I ended up with a cushion, a cut I still love :love: , but I've always been an asscher girl at heart. After working with Jonathan and some other wonderful people at GOG to sell my cushion, SO has given the official green light to start the ER search!

I can't believe it's finally happening, I'm getting an asscher AND I get to work with an amazing PS vendor!!!!! Jonathan has said that he can start looking as soon as tomorrow or Monday, so hopefully sooner than later I'll have something for SMTB!!!!!
 
That is great news!!! :appl: I think you saw my videos, so you see the kinds of asschers he can get! Are you looking at the 1.15 J or another size?
 
Yes, I did see your video and I LOVED the J in it (Along with the stone you got, the H right?)....However when I looked just yesterday (or maybe today) it's no longer listed on the GOG site so perhaps it's on hold or purchased. I am totally confident that Jonathan will find something amazing though!!!! I can't wait to see what he brings up, hopefully there will be a video to share too!

I used to come on PS after getting my ring years ago and was so bummed that I didn't go with a PS vendor, it sounds silly but I'm so excited I get another chance at it! And believe me, after what I went through with the first engagement ending...I've EARNED IT! :cheeky:
 
So happy for you Bee! When DS posted her GOG asscher video I swooned :love: I have been completely consumed with looking up asschers on JA & watching that video. I have an EC, but would love to have an asscher as well.

It's wonderful getting another chance at a ring. I can't wait to see what Jon comes up with for you!

Thanks everyone! I returned to PS "lurkdom" for a while, and it's so fun to be back and sharing and reading all the other great stuff people have going on!

We're already rolling!!! E-mailed with Jonathan today and it sounds like he already has 2-4 in mind....Looks like we might have video by next week!!!! :appl:

I wouldn't be surprised if all 4 of those stones sold! He knows the good cutters so I am sure he will get more of the same!

We looked at the Octavia but I told Jonathan that the traditional asscher is the way to go for us. I'm totally impressed by the cut and think it's a great way to get more brilliance from a step cut, but I've always loved the asscher in it's original form, so we're going to stick with that.

DS: I wouldn't be surprised either, every stone in that video was amazing. I can't wait wait wait to see what he finds for us. I think I'm going to go a littler lower in color to get some extra size. As of right now SO feels like he wants me to have this diamond *forever* so we're going to do our best to avoid DSS in the future :cheeky:
 
Just got the word that 3 options arrived this morning and video is coming!
