Just got performance images of an asscher I was looking into getting. This is my first time, so I don't know too much. I have an appointment tomorrow with the gemologist that has the stone, but I was hoping beforehand to get some feedback here on these images as to whether the quality of the cut is okay or if I should pass and look for better ones.

It's a 1.66ct, VS1, color I

check it for darkness under the table, the dark zones in the picture.
View it in as many lighting conditions as possible and in a stone holder on your finger.

You wouldn't happen to have the table size and crown height would you?

Thanks for the advice. Here's more specs. What do you think?

I'd give it a pass. Way too much darkness under the table, not enough light return.

Waiting to hear from Karl... (to me it seems a little dark in the center...)

I agree with the others, it looks like the table is very dark. Karls the pro though.

crown height and table are in the ok zone.
Pay attention to how the dark zones in the images react and look at it up close.
If just buying from images and paying shipping I would agree with the above but your seeing it in person so you can see if it is an issue for you and how dark it stays under tilt.
If it looks that dark in person then there are better ones out there.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I just got back from taking a look at it in person. It actually looks okay, especially under tilt. I don't really notice the darkness too much. But I'm new to this, so there's not much credibility in what I see though.

The gemologist thinks it looks pretty good and that he doesn't put as much weight on the ASET image for asschers as he does for say round cuts.

I'm on the fence, maybe leaning a bit towards going with it. I'll have to make my decision by Tuesday.

I agree with that, which is why if someone can't see it in person I like to have a video.
What the ASET does is point you towards what to look for in video/in person.
