I stumbled on an ebay asscher tonight - terrible certification with bare bones details. I want to get general impressions of it, because I suspect it fits firmly in the 'too good to be true' category. One of those stones that people stubbornly cling to, insisting they got the deal of a LIFETIME.

First - does anyone even recognize this cert?

That table is awfully large, is it not?

It looks pretty...but all diamonds do to me, in static images - especially those that could have been easily retouched.

And if this is an awful stone, at least the thread will be here as a warning to all future asscher ebay hopefuls!

Never heard of the name on the cert.
Also that picture is not the diamond in the report.
The table is not 70% in the image, more like 55-60%

That pretty much stitches it up for me. I discovered the 'cert' (I use the term loosely here) is from USGA. And it has nothing to do with golf! I can't find anything more than their website - gemological.us. No reviews, nothing. And fake images for a listing? :nono: Thanks, but no thanks. I only wish I could actually afford a 3 ct asscher for real!
