Thx for the responses. I dont have any pix (yet...will try to get some), but I''ve seen the stone in person. Under flat lighting (fluorescent) it looks good--no shadows and seems to have depth. Under bright light (halogen or somesuch) it seems to have a lot of brilliance and bounce. I have not seen it in daylight yet, but will beforehand if I decide to buy it. I have examined it with a loupe, and although I am far from an expert, I couldn''t see the inclusions. (I have looked at at least a dozen candidates, and in almost all cases I was able to see the inclusions without professional guidance.) Even when using the GIA certificate''s diagram as a crutch, I can''t see the inclusions, since they are off to the side and very small.
Can anyone confirm if the proportions (6.46x6.33x4.27) are correct for an ideal cut or close-to-ideal?
Thx!
Whilst AGS grading is possible for a number of fancy shapes (e.g. princess, emerald cut including sqaure emerald cut, oval), so far there are very very few AGS ideal graded fancy cut diamonds available on the market - as princess cuts are the most popular fancy shape, in practice the very few AGS ideal cut reports tend to be for princess cut diamonds.
Once you post pictures including ASET if you can then people will be able to comment on your diamond.

What would be fair price on this? Is $7000/ct a good deal?

I am now questioning my choice on color/clarity. I am very interested in the second stone, but at the end of the day, when mounted, am I really going to tell the difference that it is Evs1? Is there a sweetspot for price/value in Asschers? Should I look at an F or G, VS2 or lower, and use the savings to increase the size?

Thanks, strmrdr.
I know it isn't as good as pictures or seeing in person, but do you have any opinion (as far as cut quality) based on these specs:
1.57ct
E
VS1
68.4 depth
55 table
Ex polish
VG sym
No fluorescence
Four rows of facets on the pavilion, three on the crown
Seems to be very lively (8 more facets than a three-step Asscher).
It is significantly more $ per ct than the other stone, but the other stone was Fvs1.
Thanks!

the extra facets may not necessarily translate into being worth more to others, but it's a characteristic that is harder to find in asschers and personally i LOVE having that 4th step...it makes the stone look so much deeper and mesmerizing next to one that has only 3 steps.![]()
