I am considering an asscher - I may just need to look at something other than RB's altogether and I really love asschers. I have done research tonight and know you get a smaller face up size and that it is hard to find a good one.

Can anyone comment on this one?? The rep I was speaking with at a well respected vendor says as long as the ratio is 1.05 or better that it will look square.

Shape: Asscher
Carat weight: 1.67
Cut: Ideal
Color: K
Clarity: VS2
Certificate: GIA
Depth: 65.6%
Table: 60.0%
Polish: Very Good
Symmetry: Very Good
Girdle:
Culet: None
Fluorescence: Faint
Measurements: 6.58*6.35*4.17
Ratio: 1.04

Thanks for the help-
Jessica

Jessica, a round is going to look whiter face up when well cut. Not sure I'd go to a K in another shape unless it is an antique stone. Why are you not wanting a round now? Since you were wanting a 1.5 round, I believe, you'll have to get a pretty large asscher to equal the size of a round. A 1 ct. round is 6.4-6.5mm.

DS,
You're definitely right- I am still looking at RB's, I was just getting so discouraged... did you get a chance to read my post from earlier today? If you have a chance to and have time to comment, I would love to know your thoughts. I just want someone to tell me a VG cut is okay as long as it gets a decent score, or if I am crazy!

I haven't been on Rocky Talky much today. I'll go check the other thread!

Thanks so much DS, I don't blame you, I'd be busy playing with that beautiful new diamond of yours!

it would be JUST my luck that my next favorite choice to the RB happens to be the smallest spread per carat weight diamond. Go figure! Maybe one day I can get some baby asscher earring studs if such a thing like that exists!
