hello

Trying to buy an asscher diamond to set on an engagement ring. Did lot of research but I still I can use some help. I would appreciate some links to some diamonds that you have picked out for me.

I''m looking for the following specs:

depth: 65-75%
table: 58-64%
crown: 10-15%
cut: VG and up
polish and symm: VG and up
color: D-H
clarity: IF-VS1 ( i prefer to have higher clarity than color)
carat: 1.00-1.50

I saw some IS on GOG but wasn''t sure if they were good asschers.

Also, does bluenile, uniondiamond, whiteflash offer IS and sarin reports? do they have actual pics of the diamond?

thanks.

budget would be under $8k for the loose diamond.

thanks

gog is one of the top asscher vendors there is they are well qualified to help you.
Finding a kicken asscher requires working with a vendor these days there are very few of them available and are a specialty market.

storm,

one question.
How is the sparkling quality of asscher compared to other diamond cuts?

This question wasn''t addressed to me, but I own an asscher ering...

An asscher definitely doesn''t "sparkle" like other cuts. It is not as brilliant.

However, it has flashes of color and sparks of brilliance and crazy depth and I think asschers are just amazing...

But if you are after sparkle - it doesn''t really compare...

Ditto, and they get dirty so quickly... do a search for asschers on here... there are threads about asscher qualities. You REALLY have to know what you are getting and LOVE LOVE LOVE an asscher to own one. They really aren''t for everyone.

Over the past few weeks, I read alot about asschers in this forum. I was little turned off by the high maintenance part but I''m hooked on it. I love the step cut, windmill pattern and the "mile deep" look it has. I think I understand when people say you''ll love em or hate em about asscher cut diamonds.

How bad is the maintenance? Will self-cleaning kits be sufficient enough?

I guess I''m just worried that the diamond will look fake and won''t impress anyone.

thanks guys.

Won't look fake. I don't think at all.

You'll get a TON of compliments on your princess.

I HIGHLY recommend an ultra sonic cleaner for it.

I doubt anyone would think your asscher looks fake.

It is a fairly rare cut, ignoring all evidence to the contrary on this site.

When folks see my diamond they often comment that they have never seen that kind of cut before. Asschers also tend to be a bit smaller for the carat weight (mine, which is my avatar is 1.57 carats, but doesn''t look huge at all) and because they are such an intricate looking cut, I''ve never had anyone question whether it is a fake.

And yeah...they do get dirty...but the look AMAZING when they are clean. I have a pave halo around mine, so I only Ultrasonic it once or twice a month, but other jewlery cleaners (particularly a gel type, if you can find it) work pretty well too. Not as well as the US, but pretty well.

Gypsy - Love the new avatar!
