Gemologist Review:
The 1.28ct J VS2 has exceptional depth and a better overall appearance. The diamond faces up white, and does not have any visible flaws without magnification and a trained eye. If you are looking for a more properly cut, higher quality diamond, this is the one for you.

I know this is a matter of personal taste, but the thick black step in that "bright drop" type asscher is not doing it for me. I do agree with strm that it''s a lovely stone if you like the "bright drop" style, but I had an asscher in that style, and I ended up swapping it for a round shape because the "black square" bugged me when I looked at the stone.

Otherwise, it''s a stunning asscher, but that one dark step is a bit too pronounced for me.

D&T, I gave up on the 3 stone and am considering this for a solitaire. I need to buy a new car right now so I may not be able to pull the trigger on this stone

Vespergirl, thanks for telling me your experience. I would definitely view this stone in person for awhile before having it set to make sure the black square doesn''t bother me. I would think once you tilt the stone and remove the head obstruction that the shadow would not be present. Am I correct?

yes
There are a few that don''t but it is rare.
Some people don''t like them and it depends on the size of the stone also.
For example in a 2ct plus my personal preference is to move away from drops to other patterns.
Some people love 2ct+ drops however.
