Whew, I just finished up checking out all the new (to me) rings in the SMTR forum, holy moly! There must be some very very happy ladies here!

As some may remember, I AM leadfoot''s fiancee! I was shown a very hefty emerald cut, and although it was very very beautiful, my heart still yearned for an Asscher!! So, being the absolute dream that he is, we went searching for the perfect stone. Now, I am anxiously anticipating my 3-stone ring from Vatche! I really thought I would be head-over-heels in love with the dripping-in-pave, vintage elegance, 1920''ish settings, but I tried on a T&Co Lucida, and loved the simple lines of it! Vatche is making my ring, and I will have it by friday! Yay!! I will be ready to post a bajillion pictures over in SMTR!

I saw Wallermama''s thread with her Dimend Scassi eternity, and how she liked the shimmer of the round stones with her asscher. I think that idea is marvelous! Big flashes with glittery shimmer! We looked at a few bands, and there is a .50ct sg-h vs2 hared prong band that I have taken a liking to.

What is everyone''s thoughts on having a 3-stone step cut ring with a .50ct rb eternity band? My other option is to have Dimend Scassi make one of those yummy u-prong asscher bands Issac has on his website. We contacted him about this, but I just think it will be overkill. My centre stone is 5.12cts. What band would you do if you were me? Baugette band? Pave band? Plain band? No band? help!

I think an RB eternity band would look stunning with your Asscher! I also have an Asscher as a center stone with RB pave. I tried on a thin RB eternity band with my e-ring today and it was a really, really beautiful combination. The glittery effect of the RBs is a nice contrast with the clean, shining lines of the step cuts. Go for it if you like it!

Oh, and I got my e-ring from dimend scaasi and will get my band there, too.

5+ carat asscher in a 3-stone Vatche setting?!?!?!?!?

YOU LUCKY LADY!!!!! Congrats!!!

OK, as for a matching band. I fell in love with a french cut baguette eternity band at a jewelry shop here in San Francisco -- they were only 1.7 mm wide each and uber-delicate and elegant. When you put two of them together as a stack, it looks incredible. This was the first thing I thought of when you mentioned your ring. French cut diamond baguettes are fairly rare and have some extra faceting to them so they have a bit more of a sparkle than "regular" step cuts like baguettes.

Imagine two of these bands stacked together (totalling .70 tcw). Soooo classy! Would be a perfect counterpoint to your large and gorgeous asscher ring!

A second to KD''s suggestion. I was there when she tried it on, and tried in on with my asscher too. Uggg, I loved them. The pic does not do it justice at all...the metal hardly showed so it gave the impression of somehow being carved out of diamond. Scrumptious! To me there is something even more perfect about this type of band, because it picks up the points of light from the asscher (or RB in JKD''s case) without competing with it. I hate to diss my beloved eternity band, but I would have traded in a heartbeat

But then again, with a rock like yours, I don''t know that you need anything to "add" oomph! I''d just try different types on and go with your gut. Can''t wait to see this honker!

As usual WM, you have such a way with words. You described the band perfectly. It *does* look as though it were carved out of one, super-thin, circular ring-shaped diamond.

Check out my ring thread for pics of the ring that WM and I are talking about. Note how thin and dainty it is....and in your case, you may want to stack two together depending on the look you''re going for. For reference, my ring has a 3.5 carat center stone.

(sorry to threadjack, but WM -- my DH is still a little lukewarm on this band, but just said that if I really love it, he''d get it for me as my combined birthday/anniversary gift! Wellll.....either this or the u-prong eternity band with rounds by Dimend Scaasi! Hehe)

I too think you should just wait til you have that baby on your hand, and go try on a million bands to see which style ''speaks'' to you.

Here''s a pic of Didiamond''s rock with an asscher band. Not too shabby, huh?

(There''s probably a better picture somewhere, but I was too lazy to search for one...)

EAGERLY awaiting pictures....you must be SO EXCITED!!!

HI:

Please show us pics of your ring!!!!!

Presently I wear my radiant ER (5.01 + 1.12 side traps) without any other rings. I have tried on a plain wb''s, a Scott Kay baguette wb, a small Tacori rb pave and claw set wb, but I like the look alone.

Good luck on your search!

cheers--Sharon

That band looks gorgeous!!! I was thinking about getting a Ritani Endless Love pave band as a wedding ring but that one is making me rethink it. Does the store have a web page? Would you be able to say the price range it is in? It really looks great with your ring and I bet it would look amazing w/ 5+ carats of asscher goodness

Hi Indecisive (hehe). If you change your mind and want to look into this french cut band, go to Doyle & Doyle''s. It''s $1800.

Haha, yeah, my sn really fits, doesn''t it? Nice price too. Thank you so much for sharing pictures of it w/ your yummy ring

Now to show my fiance

By the way, Indecisive, Doyle''s can make the ring with or without the itty bitty microscopic millgrain on the edges. Just FYI. The ring is so dainty that the milgrain is really hard to see, but if you are picky about that kind of thing.......

OKAY! YOU ARE ONE WAY WAY LUCKY LADY! A 5ct ASSCHER! YUM!

To be 100% honest, while all of those bands sound divine...I would pick a plain platinum band....but this is just my opinion. I wouldn''t want ANYTHING to take away from that e-ring....but once again, this is JUST my opinion...

My second choice is a e-w diamond baguette band...to keep with the step-cut tradition but still simple...then it would be an asscher u-prong band on Dimend Scaasi''s website...which makes me yearn for diamonds :) I am not a huge fan of mixing step-cuts with other cuts....but once again, this is just MY opinion...

Whoa, we need pics of your amazing ring LOL!!! As far as bands go, I think a thin band with rounds or baguettes would be lovely. You really have a lot of options with an asscher.

I think you should get the ring and go on a shopping trip. You might like it all alone with a band on the other hand, or you might not. Put it on and see how you feel! So glad to hear from you and to know you got what you always wanted!!! Can''t wait to see it.

Sharon, not to jack, but where are some pix of your stunner???
